Is this still going on for anyone else? It seems to be worse than ever now. Almost half of the Liveries show up only in the thumbnail, when on the car in garage view they’re grey and glitched out. Even more concerning, when I scroll through my created designs folder, now many of those are showing up completely wrong (usually showing up as the stock livery that my design replaced).
I’ve seen people have been encountering this for weeks now. This game truly wasn’t ready for release.
It’s been happening to me since I have started playing. Typically, I’ll have to re-download the liveries I have for multiple cars because they turn grey frequently. Some days it’s not so bad, other days it happens to all my cars lol
It definitely seems to be way worse some days vs others. Very odd.
The whole garage is a mess: grey livery, wrong livery, old livery from former owner showing that I deleted, wrong car showing in the left row, wrong car showing as 3d model. And it also seem to happen at random to me, some days 20% is wrong, on other days it’s more like 80%. It’s really annoying, but at least the game doesn’t crash when it happens like it did in FM4.
It certainly doesn’t inspire confidence. I used to save my liveries at 1 mid-point of progress, but now I’m super paranoid and am saving things constantly worrying about a crash.
Why do I play this game again? lol

Same thing here with some liveries.
I get the same issue, random liveries just turn gray. I seem to get it more from liveries that I download rather than ones I created myself though, but it does appear randomly. I switch between Xbox and PC so i thought that was causing it but apparently from this thread I’m not alone.
I got sooooooooo tired of re applying liveries that I quit playing for a while,
eventually I just repainted all my cars with factory colors, they don’t turn grey anymore , but the game is quite boring now,
choosing cool paint schemes, or creating my own is a MAJOR part of what I like about forza, without liveries it just aint the same
I drive a grey primer car in real life, I DONT want them in my game!
Same here but it seems to happen only with the Pagani Zonda Cinque.
Getting this problem too. Considering just reverting all my cars to original paint jobs to avoid this problem. Have the devs responded to this problem at all and are they planning to address it? It’s a real shame because there are some real pieces of art out there, but whenever I want to go in my garage and have a look at them half the time they’re grey.
This problem is really getting worse and worse.
You can download the livery, switch to another car and then switch back and your car is grey again. The more you browse cars, the worse it gets.
I guess this problem exists on both plattforms?
Same here, its been going on for months. It happens to random cars at random intervals but most days there is one or maybe two cars affected. Really annoying but harmless. Xbox 1s digital download.
Same here in garage and when driving. If I wanted a grey car with bits of bright green and pink I would paint them that way
Mine don’t turn grey. They just revert back to the colour I bought the car with from the dealership. And it’s every car. Doesn’t matter how mild or wild the livery. It could be a simple paint colour change and they all revert back to the original colour as soon as you scroll away from it in the garage.
hi to everyone,xbox one console for me ,in my game (solid disc copy)any car turn to the default color (buy color) ,just i choose free play ,basically the game did not save any change in painting ,or vynil application.I play off line for 99% of time ,so i decide to zero all my save and unistall the game ,and then re install the game without any patch update ,obviously the game is too limited but the bug with the livery’s did’nt exist … And going back in my mind all work fine up to the firts patch update ,by the second patch update i had the problem,coriously if i connect the xbox to internet the bug disapper ,sorry for my english i’m a bit rust …
TURN 10 PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH THIS TYPE OF BUG AS SOON AS POSSIBLE , i love forza motorsport for the many car that hold ,vintage and new and it’s marvellous to customize any car … please solve this bug ! thank you so much to all reader ,
Not sure if already known, but it seems to be a netword/server issue.
I just switched off my network, and I was able to switch and surf through my cars all day long without seeing a single grey car.
As soon as I connected back to their servers, the problem came back too.

I have the same problem.
To test, I started the game online, then switched on the firewall (blocked the application) and browsed the cars (with custom liveries). Everything was fine until I turned off the firewall again (game was online)… and the cars became gray again.

So you’re saying the xbox one can’t handle the game for which the game was designed for? And you think that’s not a a turn 10/Microsoft problem? Please explain. …
