Hear me out, this is not sarcastic, it’s a real issue.
I will describe.
When racing and starting at lets say p6. of 20.
Max difficulty 8/8.
The A.I. in front zooms off into the distance while there is an entire train behind me, not even close enough to me to overtake. They are seconds behind. Up to 8 seconds. While cars in front zoomed of into +15 seconds distance.
As I slow down and let only one A.I. through, they beam off into the distance.
Car after car I do this.
And every car behind me is always waaaaay slower than the cars when they get in front of me. Even if I follow them closely for a few seconds, they don’t slow down.
After I let the 19th car pass. I am p20 and I try to follow the 19 car, and I cannot even dream of coming closer. They just zoom off.
While if I simply drive in p6 the cars behind form a train 10 seconds behind me and the cars in front race off to 15+, 20+, 30+ seconds in front of me.
I am not blocking any A. I. behind me. They are literally 10 seconds behind me. And if I slow down on purpose, and let one forcefully pass on long straights while I brake off the racing line, and I get close behind them. And I try to follow this slow a.i. now in front of me, I cannot even dream of following them around the track. They drive epicly fast.
So it’s not sarcastic as in, yeah thats racing. slow cars behind and fast one in front.
But the slow amateur cars becoming pro drivers when they pass me, it feels broken or bugged.
I’ve had the same problem since I started the game too!
I play on the highest difficulty and every race I have this issue where the cars in front of me are up to 20 seconds ahead with no physical way of catching them, yet the cars behind me almost never get past.
I’ve also noticed that if I overtake a few cars right at the beginning of the race, or even if I get into first place, the cars I passed also fall far behind and will never overtake unless I make a really big mistake, and if in that case I am overtaken, there is absolutely no chance of me being able to gain the place back, as they just disappear straight away!
Its super frustrating and it makes the competition aspect of the gameplay feel a bit pointless.
Hope it gets fixed soon as I really enjoy a lot of the other parts of this game.
Man do you guys even play the game? It would take a few races for you to realize this is happening. Why rely on someone’s account. Go do a couple single player races yourself, watch the replay, and see that this is an issue. I know your support, but it seems like the devs don’t play this game either because whenever anybody brings up an issue it just seems like they have no idea the issue is happening and I don’t understand how that’s possible if they actually play the game.
This was Fixed in R9 as a part of endurance racing adjustments to address a car breaking too far ahead from the pack.
