When I click download, it says “Try That Again Error, See Details.” I click details and it says “Something went Wrong. The error code is 0x80242021, in case you need it.”
I’m running the latest build of Windows 10 x64 Professional, 980-ti in SLI and dual Xeon E5-2670.
I think this is a Windows Store issue - I have two PCs and it downloads fine on one and fails on the other with the error above (of course the one it downloads on is not my Gaming PC).
Anyone have a solution? Or a way to bypass the store and download anyway?
The issue is usually from an in place upgrade from win 7 or 8 or 8.1. The only way to fix it, is to do a system reset under Control Panel>Update & Security>Recovery> then click reset this PC.
!!!WARNING!!! This will reset windows to default state but as a clean install not an update. Any other programs will be removed and you’ll have to re-install them (Chrome, Photoshop etc). There is an issue with in place upgrades not being able to get the proper permissions for user profiles etc which stops the store from working. Doing the rest thing fixes it, i’ve done it on 2 PC’s and two laptops so far.
If you don’t want to do this you can make sure your windows app storage points to C: drive as any other drive causes this issue as windows can’t set file permissions for any drive except C: with this issue.
Hope it works guys, I reported this during the win 10 beta and they’ve still done nothing. It’s actually comical they could be so incompetent. Windows store is being pushed and it doesn’t even work for many many people. lol
