I had the game on game pass and played the initial bit till i reached the place to choose my mission. Stopped the game and when i came back, it starts a fresh game.
Today I bought forza 5 premiums edition when i started it launched a fresh game including intro plane sequence. Played for an hour, finished a few missions, quit the game on xbox and used 5 of the super wheelspins from premiums and quit the game.
When i launch its again starting a brand new fresh game. None of my progress is being saved. Does anyone know of a solution
The Forza team is aware a few players are having issues with saving progress. We’re looking into it to find a solution as soon as possible, thank you.
I am done with fh5. Going back to fh4 and dirt rally 2.0
What’s the point in playing??
Hey max, is there a notification around this issue? I see nothing on the Forza section and twitter, or X requires me to login to view the Forza support tweets
We believe the issue is fixed on the server side now. If anyone lost anything in the past couple days please submit a ticket at Forza Support.

So, built a killer Impala for the weekly trial.
Downgraded the B Class I had built and tuned beforehand to run C Class…
Go to log into my game for a few Trial races with my Killer Impala before the next weeks trial, and it’s just gone. But not really.
I only had 1 Impala in my garage, and now on my screen, it lost it’s custom livery and the tune reverted back to the original B class tune with the stock livery.
I looked for the Livery I created for it in the roster, and it is nowhere to be found.
So, it seems that the hours I played that day on my XBOX One S - never saved, and went back to a prior save. That’s all I can come up with here.
No Crash, no power outage as an excuse. . .
I know compared to others who have lost an entire game install this isn’t much in comparison, but even so, going forward, I will be very on guard wondering if my game will save the minutes or hours of builds I might do in a day.
I have had occasions where I have had cars just up and disappear from my garage, but nothing like this before.

I had the same issue. I play on Xbox One S too. I upgraded my sweet Lambo to street race. I turned off my console that night and turned my Xbox on the next morning. I went in to Forza Horizon 5 and the screen turned black, it kicked me out, and it erased the car’s upgrades and livery just like that. It also erased my previously completed street races.
This isn’t the first time that happened. It was a lot worse the first time…
This used to never happen, until the new “update”. It was more a downgrade than anything.
This issue was addressed on the server side and with the July 27 hotfix:
