Game will not load profile for saved game data or foonline access following last update on January 6

Went through the latest Forza 6 update process last night and now cannot connect to get my saved game data and cannot access the xBox store. Screen offers a “Try again” choice or to play offline only.

Is there something happening with the servers somewhere?

Project cars is also not connecting but GT6 on my PS3 is fine as are other online services with my internet access.

I’m not having this issue from the latest update… but there are still issues with MP in FM6. don’t know about PJ cars…

seems like everything is fine from xbox live.

edit: have you tried to Power cycle your xbox? like snowowl suggested

Do a full hard reset of your console, then try again. If that doesn’t fix the issues, I would contact Xbox Support: Xbox Support

They may need you to delete your Profile and then download it again, but wait for their guidance.

Thanks for those suggestions… however you’ll have to excuse my ignorance but what is a “full hard reset?” I’ve rebooted the console several times but have never done whatever that is.

Posted many times:

1 – from the Dashboard, out of all games, hold the X button on the front of the console down until it shuts the system down.
2 – Disconnect the external power from the wall plug (or at least disconnect the wall-side connector on the power pack itself).
3 – WAIT until all power drains from the external power pack (no light, either white or dull orange showing on the pack).
4 – Reconnect the power supply to the electrical outlet.
5 – Restart the console in the usual manner, i.e., either with the controller or a short push on the X button on the front of the X1.
6 – WAIT until the console self-checks and fully boots to the Dashboard before attempting anything.

If you don’t disconnect the external power pack and let the power completely drain out, the system is still retaining “old” stuff and not resetting.

Sign into Xbox Live and attempt to launch the game again. If it starts to sync DO NOT INTERRUPT IT or do anything else on the console until it fully completes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Xbox Support also says the Power Supply Unit (PSU) must be connected directly to a wall outlet, NOT into a power strip or any sort of multi-plug extension.

thanks again for that info. I do have an update however…had a very positive interaction with xBox tech support last night. Was able to go through a very systematic diagnosis process:

  • did the complete hard reset as you’ve outlined. Did not resolve issue.
  • checked connectivity of the hardware via my home wireless network. All was good even though my upload speeds were just over the minimum recommended at the time of the test.
  • then proceeded to remove my Microsoft account profile and replace it with a new one.
  • following that process when fired up again, FM6 went through a synching data process which took a few minutes for the game servers to reload my saved data
  • would also explain why Project Cars would not launch properly either as my profile data must have been corrupted in some way. Project Cars also needed to “re-synch”
  • once the date synching was done all was good.
  • will need to do that as well for my F1 2015 game. I now understand that all xBox one games saved data resides on the external cloud no matter who published the game

Very impressed with the level of tech support available and the quality of the advice I was offered. It was excellent and I’m glad to say back on track - with a day off from work too boot!
