i don’t know what they broke with the last shadow update, but now whenever i benchmark the game on PC it doesn’t restart. the splash screen briefly appears and then nothing. as if it isn’t bad enough that i had to factory reset my PC (and thus losing all progress in anything i’ve done over the past THREE YEARS) to get the game to update (which was actually a reinstall) now i have to cold start the game whenever i fiddle with the graphics settings trying to squeeze out the best performance vs visual fidelity. luckily i have a habit of backing up everything i do on my PCs, so nothing important was lost when i reset my gaming rig, but it sure is a pain reinstalling everything after doing so. after two years they just can’t seem to get these updates right without breaking something else…
Hey! Welcome to the “Game Won’t Start” everytime club! I’ve been a member for a while now and there are some old timer’s who have been here since the ol’ days. Sit down and stay for a bit while nothing gets done about it! I’ll upvote you though anyway. Should be a hoot!
i can play the game, it just won’t restart after benchmarking.
Oh I hear ya’. We all can still play the game too. This restart problem you’re referring to sounds exactly like everyone else’s “won’t always start” problem. Even though your problem seems to be linked to restarting after benchmarking, the result is the same. I will say that if that’s the only time you have the issue, then you’re still enjoying a lot more time playing than others who sometimes have to try several times just to get the game running.
