Hello!
We have an AMD FX9590 in an Asrock 970A-G/3.1
16 gigs GSkill Ripjaw Ram
MSI GTX 1070 Ti Titanium Edition
Running Windows 10 Pro, Build 1803, Auto Updates turned on.
Nvidia Driver 417.01
Forza 7 MS 1.150.92.77.2
I’m going to get this out of the way, this computer is used exclusively as a game console. Period. It doesn’t go on the internet (Youtube/facebook/email/etc). I don’t even have an antivirus program on here. I have windows 10, the Nvidia driver/experience. Steam (Its assorted games), Oculus Rift (Its assorted games) AMD Overdrive and MSI Kombuster. I’m not even visiting this forum on it.
This has started recently, going to say the last 2 weeks. The game basically bricks the system. I could be racing online in multiplayer, single player, or even in the menu. The TV (And I play on a TV) Just goes black, says ‘No Signal’ and I hear all half dozen fans kick in the system go to max. I have to get up and hold the power button on the tower down, twice. Because whatever state it’s in (Which I can’t see due to lack of picture) the first push just short cycles it. I then have to hold it down a second time to get it to actually turn off
.
That being said, the computer then powers up without a problem. If I go to the event tracker, the only thing it lists is ‘Power on after improper shutdown’. What brings me here, is this exclusively only happens in Forza 7 Motorsports. I cannot stress this enough. The computer will do 5 or 6 hours of any AAA Game you want, on ultra high graphics, 60+ frames a second, in 1080. Shadow of War, Witcher III Wildhunt, Fallout 4, Skyrim VR. anything on the Oculus Rift. Nothing. The first time it happened (Playing Forza), I fired up MSI Kombuster, and ran a 1080 particle effect, at 160 frames a second, and sideloaded the processor to 100%, and ran it like that for six hours straight.. Nothing. Nada.
So, ideas? Anything? Thanks in advance.
