[UPDATE:]
This is a known issue with the latest drivers, the one released for Forza 7. {faceplam.gif}

• Players won’t be able to use G-sync if they have the Nvidia 385.69 drivers installed. Players will want to install the 385.41 drivers to use G-sync.
I’ve played Forza 6: Apex and remember G-Sync did not work initially and was also broken with an update and then returned with a future update. Since then G-Sync has been working as intended on Apex without issue.
My problem G-Sync doesn’t work with Forza 7. I’ve duplicated my settings from Apex, including 60 fps and fullscreen mode. Can anyone confirm G-Sync is working for them?
I’ve downloaded the latest Forza 7 optimized driver.
I am currently on Windows 10 Pro v1709 Build 16299 and the v387.78 drivers due to having issues with downloading Forza Motorsport 7 on v1703 Buld 15063.632. This fixed the download issue and I was able to play the game from 9pm on Saturday after a 21 hour download (which thankfully didn’t error out…). However, performance was still not quite there as while I was getting 65-118 fps at 4K maxed out Ultra settings with 8xMSAA and an unlocked framerate, the game just did not feel smooth at all in comparison to the Xbox One version which I was switching back and forth to to see how it fared against the PC version. The PC version often felt like the framerate was half of what was being shown by the RTSS overlay. The console version was a locked 60 FPS at all times.
Thinking it was bad framepacing on PC, I created an RTSS profile called ForzaMotorsport7.exe and set the Framerate Limit to 165 for my 165 Hz G-SYNC display. I then played the game for 2.5 hours and it felt so much better; on a par with the Xbox One version in terms of smoothness if it wasn’t for the rare but noticeable framerate hiccups that usually occur once or twice per race. It’s a night and day difference.
So my question is does Forza Motorsport 7 have a framepacing issue?
My PC specs are: i7-4770K @ 4.0 GHz, 16 GB, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2.
For some reason on my PC, the second I enable Gsync, my frame rate just utterly tanks to the point where I have to alt-f4 because I can no longer even navigate menus. It’s like 6-8 seconds between frames…
Yes, I can confirm changing the frame rate option doesn’t help. It seems like the Gsync buffer gets completely “clogged” up by whatever threading technique FM7 uses.

This is not correct at all.
If you use those drivers and enable Gsync the game runs at 1FPS and tanks the entire PC.
If you disable Gsync in the nvidia control panel the game runs fine. This also fixed my Forza Apex issue where the FPS tanked to 1FPS or lower, I tested it there and it works fine now.
Please work with nvidia to get this fixed
EDIT: I don’t get it… I disabled Gsync, went in to game and set all settings to max for Apex and FM7 then enabled Gsync and now it all works… it didn’t before. It seems enabling/Disabling, messing with settings in Forza and going back and forth seems to make it work.
For me it’s not, and all other games but no-one has any suggestions to fix it on here or Reddit. So frustrating because I know my G-Sync works fine with any other game I play that supports it so there’s no reason it shouldn’t work. Why is God punishing me so hard??? Does he have nothing better to do?
