FYI: Only Game Pass subscriptions paid through Microsoft are eligible for the Forza Horizon token

Hi everyone,

Despite being a Game Pass member since the program began and purchasing the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle for Forza Horizon 4 when the game launched, I never received a token for the game. Over on the Forza forums, one of the community managers ( u/T10ManteoMax ) said that all codes have now been sent out, so I reached out to Xbox support to see why I did not receive one. After 45 minutes on the phone, I was told that I did not meet the criteria for a free code because my Game Pass subscription was not tied to a payment method. I have Game Pass through the Microsoft/Bing rewards program, which gives you a pre-paid code for Game Pass, and apparently this disqualifies you from getting a code.

On the FAQ page, these are the listed requirements to receive a code for the game: “If you purchased DLC for Forza Horizon 4 and a fully paid Xbox Game Pass subscription before June 25th, 2024 you will receive a game token for Forza Horizon 4 Standard Edition completely free starting June 25th, 2024.”

To me, my Game Pass subscription is fully paid, but what they really mean is you must be paying full price through Microsoft to be eligible.

Obviously this is incredibly lame. Xbox support really had no clue what was going on, but insisted that they would not make any exceptions. So if you, like me, never received a code maybe it’s because you use pre-paid codes for Game Pass.

Oh no!
I don’t have a payment method because i live in Algeria, we don’t have those visa) credit cards. It’s depressing. I purchased the ultimate bundle add ons of Forza horizon 4 ( 4 years ago) and all the dlcs that come with it, played it through Gamepass ultimate and didn’t receive the free code
