Fun but frustrated

Forza 5 is great looking and solid fun but there are some serious points of concern that really hinder the enjoyment. I know a lot of feedback has already been given on the AI but it is just plain busted how good the AI is even at what was considered ‘easy’ levels in FH4. What would have been simple yet enjoyable forzathon events are just crappy experiences when even with solid tunes and good driving lines there is no chance of winning. Furthermore the Horizon Arcade events are a joke. You need to find a group of people and hope to God you get good zones or that they don’t bug out. I’m still excited for this game’s potential if some quality adjustments are made but right now the season is a real slog every week. Especially the Trial. Hoping for the best.

If your a good driver them you should have no problem beating 99% of the races on unbeatable using good cars/tunes. I’m speaking from experience.

I would say the AI drives like a toxic rammer would. Its quite a shock at first when an AI car drives like this. My advice would be to just overtake on the outside. But again car choice really matters. For example I used TVR speed for s1 road/street races due to its insane acceleration. In most races I could take the lead at the start and hold it by just overtaking on the outside, sometimes on the curb itself. You can also try drive very aggressively at the start and if you don’t take the lead early then restart and try again.

I in my insanely ignorance started the game at midnight 4th of November in Germany and alter all the difficulties to the point like I drive my cars in FH4 - AI difficulty on pro settings, abs on, tcs off, esp off, steering on standard, rewind off. The showrace was no problem, but with getting to the normal races no matter what kind of classes or racetypes I stand no chance to get under the first 10 places. Got even lapped in my first street race with the pretuned Mitshubishi Evo from the Welcome Pack in the first street race from the leading AI.

Man, that was a very desaster.

Now I am stuck with standard difficulty and drive aids as the physics dramatically changed here in regard to FH4. You almost didn’t stand a chance in a normal stock car at a grip/dirt race. AWD doesn’t give you that advantage as in FH4. Though I have tuned some cars now in FH4 and FH5 and got even a few cars with a 10 in starting as in acceleration in the A800 class the AI with rwd or fwd cars let me behind at the start of the race.

Only my D100 AWD tune of the R4 L Export would give me a slight advantage at the start, where I can overtake some of the untuned FWD cars in the same class, but even in offroad races with that car other R4 with fwd overtake me than in some of the corners and making a gap between me and them, though my statistics on speed, and acceleration are quite better than theirs.
