Full screen mode is not FULL excatly

Hi,

Please, look at this screenshot from the game:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8TsgaHaCf_YQ01wS0xoWE5fajQ/preview

You may notice that the view is not full to the monitor. Despite my attempts to fix it, but, nothing useful (tried changing resolution and turning off → “Force resolution”).
Note: start screens are showing full screen properly…
Please, any suggestion?!

My setup:
CPU: i7 6700
GPU: GTX 770
Monitor: 1920x1080

Kind regards

21:9 doesnt work yet, that or press alt+enter together

My monitor is 16:9…

Make sure the game is actually running at 1920x1080, I’ve had it go back to 1680x1050 a few times for no reason.

You have pillar boxing.

At a guess you have a resolution set that is 16:10, or the aspect ratio on your monitor itself isnt 16:9.

if its set to 1920x1080 in whichever control panel, then the issue is with the monitor itself and you need to manually adjust using the OSD on the monitor.

I’m sorry to say but this just isn’t the case. I’m seeing the same issue now despite having absolutely zero issues previously with the same setup. 1360x768 is the native resolution of my screen and widely accepted as a 16:9 resolution; not to mention Halo 5 Forge (another UWP game) works perfectly, oh yeah, and every other PC game I own.

This is an issue with the release version of Forza 6 Apex and needs fixing.

This seems to be what the case is… Every game in my PC is running without this issue… So, it’s in game, not in the setup.

What I find strange is that the splash screen is fine. It’s only when the game actually loads using the engine (menu’s, cars, tracks, races) that it “squashes” the image. I can manually set the resolution to a 16:10 and it’s still squashed; the loading rings are still oval etc. I’ve tried every video setting in countless combinations to no avail; I even completely wiped the game and re-downloaded it. In the end I’ve just settled on leaving it at my native resolution with everything set to ultra and waiting for a fix.

I’ll definitely be waiting for the Forza Horizon 3 PC demo before purchasing the game. I won’t buy it if there’s problems like this. Thing is though Forza Apex has been absolutely fine for me for months. I didn’t play for a few weeks and now I’ve come back after the “release version” it’s now more problematic than the Beta. Not exactly a confidence booster.

EDIT: DUST2DEATH, that’s not a bad idea actually. I have had a few driver updates since I last played; maybe something has changed. It’s still strange that no other games have an issue though.

EDIT2: Well, I just checked and for some reason GPU scaling and virtual super resolution were on. Disabling these fixes the issue. Still odd that only this game had a problem though.

Hey, I’m in a similar predicament. Came back to Apex from the beta after a while and can’t go full screen in the release version no matter what resolution I select in the options menu.

Nvidia Control Panel does not show “GPU scaling” option for me, its default to Display Scaling (but this was never an issue before in the beta). And DSR is also off. I’m thinking about deleting the beta now.

Laptop?

Display scaling is in the intel control panel.
Nvidia GPU is only used for rendering/heavy loads

Desktop. GTX 1060 6GB, driver version 372.70

I was referring to these settings:

But I have to mention again that the scaling option was always like this and I did not have this issue during the beta.

I have tried to Reset the game using the Windows Store App settings and have also downloaded the lastest update for Forza 6 Apex. Not sure what else to do.

Excellent.

Have you guys (or girls), checked that it isnt overriding your scaling options in the control panel? (amd, nvidia or intel…).

I have the exact same issue, black bars down either side.
Running a 1920x1080 monitor. Changed resolution in game to this but still get the bars either side.
Using a gtx 970 and i5 .
Everything just looks squashed, apart from into video which is fine and full screen.
Tried changing nvidia settings as suggested but no difference.

also check here

start → system → display

Did you check the other scaling option under settings → system → display. ?

You have nothing in the pull down because the CP is set to No Scaling.

Heres what it looks like:

Pull down menu options remain the same regardless of which setting I select above it. But full screen worked in the Beta so I don’t think the issue is related to those settings.

Your images dont work.

While I wait I have another question for you.
How is your monitor connected to your GPU… VGA?

HDMI.

I reuploaded the images:

Are you using a TV for your display?
