The absence of a French voice-over in Forza Horizon 6 would be a major setback for accessibility and inclusivity. For many players, especially younger audiences or those who are not fluent in English, voice localization is not a luxury but a necessity to fully enjoy the game’s narrative, tutorials, and immersive experience. Removing the French dub would create an unnecessary barrier and exclude a significant part of the community.
Moreover, this decision would feel deeply unfair to long-time fans. French voice-over has been present since the very first Forza Horizon, becoming an integral part of the franchise’s identity for French-speaking players. Taking it away now would not be a technical evolution, but a regression. Accessibility should move forward, not backward.
For a franchise that prides itself on openness, freedom, and global appeal, maintaining full localization, including French voice-over, is not just a matter of comfort but of respect toward its established community.
We recently posted a petition to support this request and ensure it is taken seriously as soon as possible. Respect our French voice actors, accept their conditions, and above all, respect your French players.
If I may, the French Forza Horizon player community does not understand why the game receives German, Spanish, and Italian voice acting, but not French.
This is very rare—if not unheard of. Usually, if these languages are available, the other one is as well (in this case, French).
You strive to make the game accessible to as many people as possible, including hearing-impaired players (and that’s great!).
It is not easy to read subtitles when you are focusing on a race at 200 km/h.
Anna is gonna be very annoying if it’s in another language. I was already upset by some “bad AI traduction” in FH5, on some texts like on custom tracks or hints for treasures, but if the radio is in english, anna is in english, and the voice of characters are in english, a lot of people will return the game. It’s going backward for no reason… money can’t be the reason… Forza Horizon is talkative a lot, the more the years passes, the more languages should be added.. And this time they are removed… what ?
I personally got super hyped about what we saw yesterday. FH is a big thing for me and french dub was always something I enjoyed a lot. That’s why I’m asking for the French dub to return in the next Forza Horizon 6 game. The FH games are always high standards, immersive and fun to play. So please continue the legacy the teams built over the years
Subject: FH6 in Japan is a dream, but cutting French Audio is a major step backward
Hi everyone,
I’ve been a loyal fan of the Forza franchise since the very beginning. Seeing Forza Horizon 6 finally taking us to Japan is a dream come true. The map looks breathtaking, and the “most ambitious Horizon yet” label seems well-deserved based on the latest footage. I am genuinely hyped for the neon-soaked streets of Tokyo and the mountain touge runs.
However, I cannot remain silent about the shocking decision to remove French voiceovers. For the first time in history, a Forza title is being released without French audio. This feature has been a staple of the series since the first Forza Horizon and in every Forza Motorsport entry.
Charging €119.99 for the Premium Edition while simultaneously cutting core localization for one of your largest and most dedicated European markets is simply unacceptable. It feels like a massive regression. Driving through Tokyo at high speeds requires total focus; having to constantly look away from the road to read subtitles just to follow mission objectives or the festival’s story completely breaks the “Premium” immersion we are paying for.
Why is the French community being sidelined when other European languages are still being supported? We are ready to support your ambition, but we expect the same level of respect and accessibility we’ve had for over a decade.
Please, Playground Games and Microsoft, reconsider this. Don’t let the best Horizon ever be tarnished by such a disappointing decision for the Francophone community.
I was so excited about this game, but it’s simply unacceptable to release a game without French audio when previous FH titles were in French. Have you ever tried reading subtitles while driving at over 300 km/h? And even if you add it later, it’ll be too late because we’ll already be well into the game’s story. As for me, I won’t be buying the game, and I urge you to do the same. It’s truly unacceptable for Xbox to do this to the French-speaking community.
I totally agree with you, because not only removing French dub is trully unacceptable for French-speaking community who have played Forza Horizon in French dub since the 1st game, but it hides something really troubling and alarming: it concerns players who have language troubles, including dyslexia for example.
Of course, this trouble can occur to those players that it can lead to a negative impact in terms of gameplay. For example, as you mentionned before, it’s not really fun to read subtitles while driving at 300km/h during a race as it makes you unfocused that you can be easily distracted, thus losing a race will be inevitable. Another example is that those who can’t understand other dub languages than French (especially young people) will have a hard time understand what the characters say during the game, thus making the progression difficult.
So, in my opinion, even if I’m super hyped for this game, it’s pretty simple: I’d rather wait for the updates of this game rather than buying it during its official release on May 19th until a French audio dub pack will be added; because it’s not only the quality we’re looking for, it’s also the accessibility, and this latter is AS IMPORTANT AS quality, especially for those concerned players.
