Freeroam Rush is ruining my experience of FH4!

i forgot how it worked in Horizon 1, but there wasn’t this system of going from a race to the next one. for me the best part was on Horizon 2 in solo, when there was a championship, at the end everyone would drive to the next city, and the xp or the order of arrival was not counted, it was only to go there, that’s all.

I’m very happy I’m not the only one where this rush cross-country stuff is really souring MP experience. I’ve re-considered my Game-Pass as FH4 is one of the main drivers for me getting it. It’s really a bad experience and as someone else said above, you can’t enjoy the rest of the actual races knowing you have to do another rush after.

And why can’t I quit the multiplayer? Bizarre UX choices in this game.

Really loving the team adventure modes, that said, freeroam rush is AWFUL. Truly awful. It bogs down the entire racing experience, requires additional tunes, and is essentially luck regarding hitting trees. I implore you all to create a team adventure mode that is only racing on a “non” freeroam course!

I still don’t like Freeroam rush but I’m learning to tolerate it. I win it more often than not. What I still can’t stand is that every online race is a team race. Why do I have to get penalized because my team (of people I do not know) is terrible? Part of the fun of Horizon 2 and 3 was getting to see everyone’s laptimes. If you got taken out on a circuit race at least you could come back and set a great lap time for all to see. Can’t do that anymore. I’ve never understood why team races don’t show the lap times anyways but now since they’re all team events, nobody ever sees them.

What racing game won’t show you your freaking lap times???
Absurd.

I hated in FH3 when was a circuit team race and I could not see the lap times, but in FH4 you NEVER can see your lap times. Idiotic, this is a racing game, who decided lap times is not important??

I wouldnt mind free roam rushes if they made it make sense. If you’re doing road races, it should point out the start and finish line, gps cannot be used, and players have to stay on the roads and find their way to the finish. THAT would take skill. For cross country, free roam rush is perfect as it is. Dirt racing wouldnt have free roam rushes since there’s really not enough dirt roads to effectively get from point A to point B.

The free roam rushes are just overly annoying. Not being able to choose the car class and race type was a really bad idea. I don’t like having to spend an hour just to get into an S1 class road race adventure so I can try out some new cars I put together. In most cases the adventure ends as I join, then I end up with A class dirt racing.

This game is mainly multiplayer and multiplayer so far is a tragic failure. As it is now, this game is really not worth $60. At most $20. These issues might not ever get fixed, and if they do, it probably won’t be done for a long long time.

I made a 257.4 mph S1 class car. I’d love to try it out…but can’t in team adventures.

That’s funny. S1 is by far the most common class I’ve played. I think you forget Horizon 2 and 3 though, it could take you all night before you got the class you wanted when it was left to a vote (unless you kept quitting and finding a new lobby)

In FH3 you could search for specific class and races, like “only S1 road races”, it was great.
Now the MP is ruined.

Of course it was a great feature to be able to search for specific stuff and it’s a shame that it got removed.

But judging from my FH3-online-experiences… everyone just wanted to drive S1 and S2 (Which I dislike), so all other classes were pretty much dead. And if you found players in the lower ones (I believe I’ve waited half an hour once), then there was always one player with a rocket ship-build who was unbeatable if the track had several long straights.

So maybe Playground Games figured that, apparently, nobody wanted to race in the lower classes anyway and thus decided to make it randomly.

A class was big in fh3

I only remember being able to pick the class you wanted and racing only. Still it was better than the current system that’s for sure.

I was running into the wild, like it used to be in this race logic,i hit the only @#$%&! traffic car in the middle of nowhere and my car flip off.
Not being able to reset the car,I gave up and I waited for the end of the race.
Kicked for inactivity.
It was ranked,obviously.

Yep. Back to back events I flipped over and could not reset. Spent the rest of the races on my roof and then side. Very frustrating

Ding ding ding! It just saved my team in the last session. We won the 2 freeroams and then the very last race.

Aside from that, the checkpoints dont reset you anymore either. The timer just keeps going

This game has so much potential that is being held back by weird decisions by the devs. I want to love this game and play it all day and night but the multiplayer needs a serious makeover. Lesson learned to never buy the ultimate edition again.

This,… I teally want to love it,. But everytime I play it for a few hours… I start to hate it again…

Its so sad… All I wanted was to race A class roadcars on roads (not dodging trees) against real people.

Sad man… This game isnt made for and by car enthusiasts at all.

I’m in the ‘love free roam’ group

I seem to be in the minority but I like the free roam rushes. I think it is a nice change of pace and is kind of a wild card that can keep a slower team in the match.
