How do I setup Free Play so I can make a 4 track championship style race where after each race, the AI keeps Drivatars remain the same, they keep their same car and points are accrued over a series of races?
I don’t see any option for letting me build a race that runs 5 laps on these tracks in this order: Laguna Seca, then Mugello Short, then Hockenheim in the Rain, followed by Maple Valley Reverse. There just doesn’t seem to be any option for it. I can easily setup a single race on a single track, plus there’s this Track Type at the top of Advanced Options in Free Play which seems to let me choose one of the single player race playlists, but who knows what tracks are actually on that list, there doesn’t seem to be a way to check.
What am I doing wrong? How can I select a bunch of circuits to race in a particular order with the AI drivers retaining their cars and points the entire time?
What do you mean? Like I can’t pick those tracks? Is it because I want to race in the rain on 1 track but not in the rain on the others?
I poked around again after posting this message on the forum but still couldn’t find that multi-track race championship option. I can select Circuit racing and Tag and Virus races but whereever they hid the “setup championship race on these tracks” option is buried somewhere. Is it a multi select thing like you have to use the shoulder buttons to select multiple tracks? I recall the Garage in other Forza games needing the trigger buttons to multi select but that doesn’t even show up as an option in Forza 7.
I have got to be missing something totally obvious because I can’t figure out how to start a pretty simple playlist of tracks where points are kept and the drivers don’t switch cars.
Sorry dude, no custom championships in this one. No custom divisions either. We had them in Horizon 3 too. It’s a good question, but I won’t be expecting to appear. Custom championships aren’t in Project Cars 2 either, but may get added. It seems like a bare bones feature to me.
I assume your question is sarcastic since everyone knows Turn 10 gutted this basic core feature in single and multiplayer several games ago. At least you can dress up your driver now. You can see the smudges on their visor too!
Thanks guys for your help in confirming this. I was really hoping there was some sort of Multi Select option in the Track Selection area, kind of like how you could do in previous games when you wanted to pick different cars that are eligible for a particular race. The game does such a poor job at documentation (I can imagine how many questions this forum is going to have with homologation today) that I genuinely was hoping I missed something.
That’s a really crappy development that severely limits the customization.
