I purchased, the pre-order Forza 6 Ultimate Edition for my Home Xbox One, however, my children who share the same console as me cannot get the free cars like they could in Forza 5.
Apparently I can buy them the Car Pass online, however, they can’t ever get free cars like the Chryslus or the 10th Anniversary cars. I don’t think it’s fair to expect me to buy them a full-copy of the game for the same system so they can get the free cars.
I used to work for a large game company and am confident that Turn10 can validate that accounts have a parent and are part of a family account using the APIs. So why can’t my children get the free cars?
they can still access the cars, just have to use in game credits to buy them, they are only free ingame for the account that actually used REAL money to buy them…so really they are actually still free
you just have to set up the console as the main accounts HOME console, and they will have access to all DLC cars without requiring to buy the DLC with REAL money
there’s no need to buy copies of the game for them or even the carpass for them to get the access, the only thing you would need to buy is VIP for them and it’s not really worth it to begin with
everything else SHOULD be accessible by using ingame credits which are really easy to get, especially if they are signed up for Forza rewards where you get weekly credits for doing nothing
It didn’t work like that in Forza 5 and they don’t play often enough to earn the credits. The sad thing is I’d rather buy the cars using credits because I’m at 48 million and let them have the free cars but because my account paid for the game. Only I see the free cars.
They just want to own the cars and paint or customize them. The actual driving isn’t as interesting right now. So for them using credits sucks. They actually play Forza 6 far, far, far less then Forza 5 because of this and are now losing interest in the game.
before they did that in Forza 5 you had to use in game credits to buy all DLC in game as well, now we get too many credits with nothing to spend them on
maybe you could do some races for them and earn some credits, doesnt take long to earn a few million
I do try and remember to sign them in everyday when I play to get credits as well as use the Forza Hub and yes I have played their accounts for credits, however as a father and computer programmer to be honest it’s hard enough to get time to enjoy the game for myself then grind away to earn them credits.
I’d be happy if I could gift cars on the same console. That would be better.
Silly me! Yes they did get the cars. I was looking in the wrong spot in the menu even after I had properly done it in my account! They did get the rocket and Ford GT.
