“Cringeworthy”. That’s about right. What an absolute mess. And every…freaking…time it’s something else with Forzathon. I’m actually starting to feel bad for T10 at this point.

I thought this update was supposed to fix the Forzathon? I completed the 32 Ford Forzathon and never got the car. Give me the car. There is a lot of restraint involved with making a post that isn’t getting mod edited here. I’m very angry. I don’t even care about the other two things I never got to do. Send me my car.
This is adding to the monsterous stack of issues that will make FM8 the first FM that I don’t have the ultimate edition of on launch day. I will wait to buy it as cheaply as I possibly can, if I bother at all.

Hey, don´t feel sad about not having the ´32 Ford at the Moment.
I was “lucky” that I just could get it on the one Hand, but on the other it´s sadly completely broken, you would not enjoy it.
If you would like to use it with the Standard Body, You´ll get frustrated because you cant built a proper Tune because the Tyre sizes on front and rear axles are mixed up. You would have a 245 tyre on front, but only a 215 tyre on the rear axle.
But If you would prefer one of the various Bodykits (where the tyres are ok), You´ll get frustrated because of massive graphical Issues.
Doors, Roof or at least a windshield is completely missing, parts of Interior too. You can see trough it.
On the Technical Forum they already anwered and said that they are Investigating it.

Don’t you all think that before you get out the Torches and Pitchforks that you should at least wait until after the 19th, which is the day they said it will be fixed. That is still 3 days away. So what if it disappeared at the moment. GEEZ

Just guessing, but people might be getting tired of having to deal with glitches/issues pretty much every single time. Whether it is VIP bonuses, Forzathons, missing rewards, bounty hunter events, graphics issues or anything else imaginable. I’ve paid $100 for FM7UE, and for that money I expect to get a working product, but obviously that has not been the case, since I’ve had to deal with all aforementioned issues with this broken beta. That is a crying shame, because I’ve never had any issues with previous FMs or FHs. And let’s not forget, that this is the patch which was supposed to fix the Forzathon issue.

No, it is not. The patch to fix the Forzathon issues will be out the 19th, according to their post. It hasn’t happened yet, hence my saying have a little patience.

To try and clear this up: The patch was initially announced as coming with the content update on Feb. 19. That content update was bumped early to yesterday, Feb. 15 and was intended to fix the Forzathon issue as indicated in the Release Notes thread in the tech support forum, and this specific thread in the tech support forum:

Having said that: I wonder if the reason why Forzathon is once again locked has to do with the fact they still have’t fixed one of the main prizes, that is to say the '32 Ford? I’ll bet the two issues are somehow related.

The 19th would be a good theory on maybe it will be fixed then if it wasn’t listed as a fix in the notes for yesterday’s update. And they knew about this issue for what, 3 weeks before that?
Frankly I think it’s time to end Forzathon for Forza 7. It didn’t work for whatever reason. Save it for Horizon. They should make all the prizes available in rivals events for doing them. It’s absolutely insane that every thon is bugged. I haven’t done one that popped clearly ever. I either had to reset completely or whatever bug hindered it from happening. It was a nice thought and it just doesn’t work here. Please stop.

Yeah. It really does seem that T10 has picked Forzathon as their hill to die on, and no matter how buggy or messed up it is every time, they’re going to keep trotting out the same boilerplate responses in the forums and through social media, lock it, and start all over again. Wash, rinse, repeat.
What really sucks is that as someone whose MP experience doesn’t extend much past rivals, I was really looking forward to Forzathon as it was a way for me to gain access to stuff that may otherwise only be attainable through leagues, ForzaRC and so forth. As a result, I’m feeling like I’m missing out on a big chunk of the SP experience, which is why I have bought Forza since the beginning.
Incorrect. Original patch notes sent out yesterday (Feb 15) said they’d fixed Forzathon.
It’s so strange. They originally called for all this – patch, car pack – to be released on Monday, Feb. 19. Why move it up earlier if it’s not yet fully baked?

I would like to know what you believe they could tell players at this point in time.
Of course, the fact it has been buggy for so long and they aren’t able to fix it weakens their word a bit, but they said they were working on it, what else do you expect them to do? Tell us Alan Hartman’s address and phone number?
As I understand, this game has many things in it that don’t work as they should, things that make me very disappointed in some cases, but the Forzathon issue in particular is being blown way out of proportion.
The three prizes for the current Forzathon are the 1932 Ford, the Lancia Stratos Stradale and the Motion Capture driver gear. The 1932 Ford is bugged ATM and this makes it almost useless since the whole charm of the car is in the bodykits. The Lancia has appeared on the Specialty Dealer twice now and if you’ve missed the window you can visit the Auction House to grab one. And the Motion Capture driver gear is just driver gear, no one but the extreme completionists are gonna care they miss out on it, especially when T10 has been giving away stuff that used to be exclusive (the Be Mine driver gear for example).
Aside from the bugs, they are perfectly aware of our dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the game and have been reintroducing stuff that had been lost in the transition to FM7, such as Spectator mode. So they are doing something at least.
I believe we are all gentlemen/ladies here and we can offer more balanced feedback in our assessment of the game. I find the gameplay in this particular title excellent but I do not turn a blind eye to serious glitches. I won’t just throw the game in the trash because of the bugs, though.
Never said I was going to throw the game out. You decided not to quote my whole post – which, of course, would have weakened your argument and we can’t have that, now, can we? – and as a result, you’ve lost its context.
If you had quoted my entire post, you would have seen that my comments were actually in response/agreement with another user. They suggested that Forzathon should be scrapped, and I agreed. It should be scrapped for the very reasons you suggest: there are many problems – every time – that T10 just can’t seem to fix, and are leading to quite a lot of frustration among players. Still, though, they decide to keep spending resources on fixing it on the fly, it seems, which doesn’t appear to be working. What I suggest/have seen suggested here is they find another way to allot the prizes they plan on offering in Forzathon (specialty dealer for cars, photo comps/rivals/leagues for gear), and scrapping the feature until they get it right. If that means waiting until F:H4 or FM8, then so be it.
Is that balanced enough for you?

I quoted only the necessary bits. The rest does not help your case. In fact, I quoted the agreement bit where you weren’t even particularly clear about your agreement.
I have no interest in winning any arguments, but suggesting they scrap Forzathon is silly, they added it to the game, they made a fuss about it, and they’re gonna have to make it work no matter what now that they have it in the game, especially when it works perfectly in the sibling game Horizon 3.
It’s unfair to come here and only criticize T10. People want the Chiron, they get the car. They want improved Specialty Dealer, they get new cars in it. They want Spectator mode, they go through the trouble of adding it back to the game. They want improvement to the design editor, they get exactly that. They want a better way to deal with bad players, they get human race marshals. They want more chances to win prizes, they get a Bounty Hunter event with a double header. It’s not yet perfect, but most people here are annoyingly pessimistic and it has to be pointed out because random ranting and lashing at T10 adds nothing to the discussion, it’s almost as if these people care more about the attention they’ll attract by throwing their toys out of the pram than about the bug fixing.

You’re right. I got a little ornery there as I felt like I was being misrepresented. My apologies.
What “hill to die on” means – in popular lexicon – is that someone has this certain thing they’ve spent a lot of time working on or feel very passionately about, and they won’t let anyone dissuade them, no matter what. No matter how broken, unpopular or impossible it may seem, they stick with it, come hell or high water. That’s what I’m saying with Forzathon. It’s not working, and it’s wasting many people’s time. I don’t think it matters if they scrap it now; I don’t think people will be up in arms at all as long as the prizes continue to be handed out in other ways. I’ll bet maybe 20 per cent of players do the Forzathon stuff just for the sake of the tasks required; the rest do it for the prizes. And if those same prizes were to be offered in a different way, Forzathon would be forgotten pretty quickly. Until it returns – in working order – either for FM7 or beyond. Not only will people not be mad about losing Forzathon, they’ll be thankful for not having to deal with its issues every week or what have you. Of course, if they do manage to fix it, I’ll be happy and I’ll personally come to these boards and thank/credit T10 for sticking by their guns and getting it done. That’s commendable. It’s just that it seems so deeply broken that I don’t know if that’s going to happen.
And how do you think those things you mention (Chiron, SD, etc.) got fixed/added? Well, if not entirely, then partially from T10 responding to what’s being said in these forums.
