Community Forza Motorsport 7 Car Wish Lists
The point of this thread is to keep wish lists in one place so they can be reviewed easily and to prevent other discussion topics from being pushed off a discussion board due to many individual wishlist threads.
Thread format
- List instead of paragraphs. Post one car model per line. (bullet points or dashes not necessary).
- YYYY Make Model Trim is the preferred format. Make Model Generation if you don’t know or don’t prefer a specific year.
- General car type descriptions may also be useful if you present them in a concise format. (ex.: More Volvos, older F1, Racing Trucks etc)
- List first, then describe. If you want to add explanatory description or small photos, include them below your model list.
- Don’t list the same car multiple times or repost car models you have already listed. If you want to alter your list, find the earlier post, quote it, and then add your new cars below the quote box.
- Vehicles only - use the Features Wish List thread for ideas about upgrades etc.
- No exclamation points or other superfluous text.
- No “+1” posts on other user lists - copy the cars you’re asking for and post it as your own list.
- No arguing or debating other lists - let your own wish list be the counter to someone else’s list; one user, one vote.
Additional Notes - Realistic Expectations
- A common misconception is that once a car has been added to a Forza game then it should be automatically copied/included in the day-one roster of the next game and all following games. Cars must be licensed for each game separately, which requires a new license fee - if the manufacturer is even willing to accept a new agreement. Even with a ready license agreement and previously scanned car, car models are not simply ported; they have to be adjusted and tested for changes in sound, light, Forzavista, and Performance Index with the constantly evolving ForzaTech engine.
- This thread is not a vending machine; just because “the community wants” a car, this thread is not the only source of input for decisionmaking. In addition to the logistical and budget issues mentioned above, developers consider how each asset fits into the vision of the game. This may mean that newer, ‘better’ models may replace older ones (or may not be replaced), popular models may be left out, or that unexpected cars may appear before or instead of highly requested ones. Don’t assume that manufacturer licensing information speculated in the news, or related to any other game, automatically affects Turn 10 in the same way or on a predictable timeline for Forza games.
- A little over 1000 unique car models have appeared in the history of Forza over the last ten years, with fewer than 700 appearing in the largest roster (FM4). Users requested over 3000 different models in the FH3 Wish List. Consider the math: most cars won’t make the cut, and the longer the list, the smaller the % impact of each item in the list. The most requested car for FH3 appeared in fewer than 1 out of every 10 user lists, meaning that for every car requested there were nine+ other lists requesting something that was not the car that a specific user wants.
For a summary of the community’s most requested car models, and a broad list of over 4000 model names, see the FM3 Car Wish List Analysis thread.
