Today we’ve launched the Forza Insiders Program. Read through the announcement blog and follow the link to sign up!
These testing phases include experimental and early prerelease software. This means that you may experience occasional crashes and data loss.
I saw the above in the Terms & Conditions and have some questions. Mainly, is this risk merely for short-term accomplishments (race rewards, a PB you just set in rivals, a vinyl or livery you were working on, etc.), or is there a risk to your main save in the production version? What if this creates a hardware problem? What safeguards will be in place for these volunteers?
“…Forza Insiders will have a chance to partake in early playtests of future Forza Motorsport game updates… we will reward you with additional free credits in Forza Motorsport…”
Sounds like “iNsIdErS” = more unpaid testers.
I seem to recall this company claiming to already have made use of an “insider program” in the past, so how do they plan to get better results from it this time?
Maybe there’s nothing to get too excited about… but this time it looks serious and supervised.
And just because it failed once doesn’t mean it’s doomed to fail again. In any case, I think it’s a very good sign that T10 is proposing closer contact, just a few days before the start of the new school year.
Could we get exclusive race suits, car livery’s or a car prototype instead of in-game credits please I find them more valuable.
Finally some meaningful (seemingly) way to give devs feedback and shape the future of Forza. Can’t wait to get started (if they accept me)
That’s why I asked how they plan to do it better this time.
I wouldn’t want to sign up if it’ll be the same old song & dance.
Maybe if they took action from the SHUB/THUB, they wouldn’t need another system of ingesting issue reports…
I personally don’t need a reward. Credits I definitely do not need lol. That being said, I hope there is a chance to give real feedback not just on new things, but the overall state of the game and persistent issues like the poor default settings for wheels that makes the game a poor experience outside the box for most wheel players.
This just sounds like THUB with extra steps & NDA.
Maybe they have realized the mistake and now want to redeem themselves…
I think this could be a great opportunity for t10 to improve alot of things to do with the game if they listen to the community
also adding to these, I signed up only because I can test the update beforehand for any gamebreaking bug. like update 10 introduced a bug when you exit pitlane and the car auto steers to the racing line
Sounds good on paper, let’s see how it goes
Would love to see player stats. Races won, podiums etc.
If this means there’s a way to talk directly to devs, I’ll sign in. And hopefully the insiders can act like union representatives for us forum dwellers.
We’re all playtesters already, so no I won’t sign up for that lol.
Wasn’t there some sort of “Insider’s Program” prior to launch? And look at what we got: an incomplete, buggy, half-@**ed, shell of a game. Really feels like the devs are lost and have no idea how to create an engaging, rewarding racing game. (Could look at the mountain of threads in the SHUB / THUB, for starters.) It’s felt like we’ve all been unpaid testers already from day 1…this just feels like an excuse to justify more buggy, unreliable software in the name of lIsTeNiNg To ThE cOmMuNiTy. No thanks, I’ll pass.
Good news, just signed up. Looking forward to testing out new features and help improve the game
absolutely not.
You people have had more than enough help from your community that you already ignore.
Your players have been telling you what is wrong with this game since day 1.
Does that player count need to hit double digits before you actually take note of what your community is saying?
Whichever member of your leadership team enforces radio silence on your own community forums should be sacked. There are plenty of hard-working, honest, enthusiastic and most importantly unemployed game developers who would kill for a job at a “AAA” Microsoft studio - all of whom would be substantially more qualified than the people running the show now.
