Signed up. I really don’t care if my gamesave gets ruined because of potential glitches. I’d rather help stabilize the game and start over completely than just sit and wait for things to maybe get fixed. I’m tired of not being heard.
Hopefully this “project” does what it’s supposed to do.
Hello @T10ManteoMax . I have a question. Is the insider version separate from the main version or the insider files will be installed on the main game?
I really hope it will be a separate build with a separate save file. Otherwise many people will just pass on it despite being passionate about the game. And those are the people that are needed most in this kind of program. Unfortunately many old fans already seem sceptical (rightfully so) but it’d be nice to be able to encourage them by saying “you aren’t losing anything”. Obviously it could be a lie at this moment.
Maybe it’s just my lack of knowledge in how they could implement separate save files - especially on console - but I think we’ll only have the one file.
The issue of saving would make 2 games? I have a large collection of cars already. Although I hope I can help improve everything for the better with this game.
From what it sounds like, insiders will get updates a little earlier, most likely however long the testing phase usually is. So if we normally get updates every 5-6 weeks, youll get it every 3-4.
You have to logout of Microsoft on all devices. And then log back in. I had to logout of 3 to get it to work. They acknowledge it at the bottom of the insiders page.
This is very true. Why they’re even doing the insider program this far in is beyond me. But trying to divine the bizarre and ever fluctuating intentions of this studio is a fools game at this point.
How so? They’ve had a suggestions hub for years. They’ve had a wealth of threads and forum discussions by the players here that one of their staff has at least gleaned a general sentiment from. Bug testing isnt necessary for weeks out from launch because they will absolutely not fix things in that time. How long did it take for them to fix Daytonas pit exit? And that just takes one time playing to realize thats a huge issue.
This program feels more like a taunting of the playerbase than anything.
At least what little players still exist. Motorsport IS actually doing better than Concord though
The NDA gives me pause. I know it is standard practice, but there needs to be criticism and comparisons between other games.
For any business or game to be successful, you can take lessons from other games that do certain things just a bit better. If I want to illustrate a point, say a suspect pit exit or if the AI tries to put you into the wall, I should be able to show what a different game does for the same situation in response without fear of getting banned from present and future Forza games. In that same way, the things that Forza does well are topics of discussion for fledgling racing games.
No game will ever be perfect, but I wouldn’t want to be a “yes man” to green light every idea T10 puts forward. Some of them have been very bad, and the omission of some features from one game to the next hurt QOL of that sequel. That all said, constructive dialogue in a format like this SHOULD help make the game better for everyone.
The NDA would only affect playtesting. Basically, you can’t post about a new track or cars or features before they are made public. You can provide feedback and criticism in a private area.
These steam numbers are absolutely not representative, since the game is part of Gamepass the steam sales numbers are only a small fraction of the actual player base. Accordingly, many more people play it in Gamepass, mainly on Xbox.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that, compared to the past, more popular game modes and functions are needed for the much larger number of players. It seems that they will be available based on the new road map.
You’re right. It needs something to compare it to in similar conditions.
And for the same reason you can dismiss citing steam charts. I can dismiss any supposed numbers from Xbox as they dont exist. As far as you can quantitatively prove, there could be only as many as you can join a lobby with on xbox. As far as you can prove, theres only 24 more people at most playing on xbox additional to the steam charts.
Shame xbox doesnt show their numbers. Shame they used to, Games like CoD and Halo would just tell you how many people were online right in the game.
