If they released a limited edition forza branded controller would anyone buy it?
Yeah, if I needed another controller… I wouldn’t pay 40 odd quid just for some fancy decals, id rather spend the money on the car pass or something else.
A controller would be cool, but, my only issue is how much they cost. Yes I have my own job and my finances are well managed, but $60 for a controller , eh. While the one I currently have works well, I don’t think I’d put the cash up for another. Not right now anyway. But I would still love to see a Forza branded controller for sure.
I’d be more inclined to buy a different controller if they weren’t so expensive as well. But for $60 the one that came with the console (well, technically the spare I bought) is more than enough.
I think I am going to paint my second controller. I have a Day One Edition and it’s just simply branded with “2013 Day One” which is lame. But the more gloss black feels good on it. I don’t like the feel of my second control which I purchased a month later because it is matte black and feels rough. Think I might paint it with a Forza decal. I wish I would have waited on buying a new one though, I would have loved the Titanfall Edition controller.
I would definitely buy one! Considering I only have one controller right now, which I spilled water on and as a result the battery life is like half what it used to be. Especially considering it would be a special edition based on my favorite Xbox exclusive franchise.
only if its included with the limited edition of the game

I already have the Titanfall controller, so probably not. I have enough controllers right now.
Make the controller !!!
Here’s my main controller with a hydro-dipped shell, and have a back up normal controller i got on offer when i got the XOne on launch day.
It now has transparent red sticks and the X button lights up red.
There are people on ebay who do this and can take pictures you provide to print them onto a controller but it gets expensive. You can get your own hydro-dip kits too, again not cheap, but not that expensive either. Ebay has loads of this stuff!
You can also get vinyl kits like this;
but those are easy to make yourself with the printable sticker sheets. Which are pretty cheap, and you get exactly the picture you want.
I’d buy one, maybe. It depends on how gaudy it looked and if I needed a controller at the time or not.
I bought a second one not too long ago when I had a phantom problem with my left control stick. (When I got the new one I realized I was imagining things.) So now I have 2 that work perfectly and I only ever use one at a time.
I’d go with the vinyls myself. You could skin a much cheaper controller. I went with that option for my laptop and it looks amazing.
-k
No doubt i’d buy a Horizon one unless it looked incredible…More about the rave than the racing, Really want a white one although MS said yesterday they have no plans to sell it without the console.
I don’t know. It depends on how amazing it looked I currently have two controllers and they are a little priey to get a third for no reason. One of mine may need replacing though if the right hand side issues continue to get worse but most likely I’d replace it with the white controller with black accents.
If you want a white controller just buy a shell off ebay. They’re easy to swap out.
To be honest I’m not that keen unless it’s done right.
There’s been special edition controllers for many gaming titles and franchises and most of them are nothing more than stickers.
The only special edition merchandise I’ve ever bought in terms of gaming was the Halo 4 Xbox 360, which I bought because not only am I a big fan of Halo, but the console felt like something special. The transparent case with the custom decals, blue lighting and special effects start-up noise made turning it on and owning it feel special.
If Turn 10 were to go down a similar route I’d far rather see some sort of one-off console. I can imagine something like a see through panel (paying homage to the Corvette), a red-start-up button and engine sound effects. Then the controllers could have Pirelli (or another tyre manufacturer) embossed thumbsticks etc. to make them feel special.
It’s just a thought but for me a simple paint job on the controller wouldn’t do it. Especially when you can buy pretty cool designs on the likes of eBay that simply stick on.
Well I have 2 controllers, a day one edition and a standard controller, so I’m fine in the controller dept thanks
I was going to suggest hydro dipping as well. Probably the cheapest/easiest way to get a custom controller.
*** I WOULD BUY IT IMMEDIATELY IF THEY LINKED THE CLUTCH BUTTON TO THE UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT!!! - This way I could take advantage of the speed boost of using the clutch without having to click the A button Which I find it extremely annoying.
