I do not know if this is a bug or a feature, but can someone shed some light how it is possible to race against a rival who’s not either a friend or club member who’s time is slightly better than my own?
Forza Horizon 5 (recent patch from December 3rd), XBox SX, Controller, Menue → Online → Rivals → Race type → Y (Change rival)
When I select a Rival I first see the usual cheaters list (world, top 20) and can select X for a different filter.
The next filter lists “drivers near me” and while I see myself smack in the middle of the list … I cannot select any of the neighbours.
As soon as I move the stick or D-pad I am back in the top twenty cheaters and have to scroll down for a week until I find my entry again, which is a little bit tedious.
I finally got that crash I heard about. Saw some rivals notifications, wasn’t interested in doing them so three quick taps of the x button to delete them and bam, back to the dashboard.
My work around for this is to plug a mouse into the console. I use my controller to get to the ‘drivers near me’ screen, then select the opponent I want with the mouse, then continue on with the controller.
Yep, not ideal, but it saves me a lot of grief when doing Rivals.
Thank you, works like a charm.
Keyboard and mouse are connected to the Xbox anyway for the MSFS '20.
It only takes some time getting used to that you have no pointer per se, but move the line selection up and down and cannot click.
Great! Glad it worked for you. I tried it on a hunch, and wella!! I do have a pointer, btw, and have to remember to move it to the bottom of the screen. lol
