FORZA DEVS, READ THIS: We are sick and tired of the lack of effort from the devs put into this game

I like how you’re more focused on the “Gotcha! Elitism called out! Nobody take this guy seriously from now on!” rather than trying to argue against sim racing being allowed to be a niche subgenre even when it’s doing well. That’s what I was trying to argue, and not come off like those elitist sim racers who spit on everything that’s not iRacing, or whatever is the favored sim of the month.

In the realm of specialized genres like sim racing, those games don’t need to “grow” per say as long as they’re doing financially well… And they are within their niche. Hell, you could even say, they’re doing better than mainstream racing games in terms of supporting a whole cottage industry that creates high end peripherals for them. Granted, the model is price vs. volume (including subscriptions), but my point is that’s OK, for that particular genre.

It appears you don’t want to accept this, or are trying to argue they need to be something else to reach some arbitrary milestone of sales to be considered successful? They don’t.

Mainstream games like Horizon, of course, appeal to the masses. I’ve never denied that.

However, It’s how they do it that’s the issue, and the fact they’re concentrating too much on things that aren’t adding to the game(s) as well as let the most recent game enter a subpar state where it’s flat out broken in many respects is unacceptable, no matter how you (persons in general) try and spin it.

Goodness. You chaps are still arguing about genres and physics?

It passes the time  ( not really participating myself, sorta following along some  )

I’m only really saying anything myself because I went on a vacation out of state a week ago, and the conversation at hand in this thread was still genres and physics. Knowing this thread, I would’ve thought the topic would’ve changed by now.

There might have been some detours between but I’m not sure. Not the only topic wandering out of it’s lane

Agreed. Tried to get it back on track a while ago but still it continues …

More fun watching them go at it than playing FH5.

That’s true I suppose. Often spend hours just looking through the forums whilst the game idles away in the background. Just shows the state of the game really.

That’s odd, I paid $10.99 for Assetto Corsa (On sale through Steam), and downloaded many different series of cars (including V8 Supercars) and all the necessary tracks required for a “season” to race on. Didn’t pay any extra for any of the mods, which are quite well done.

And gives a very clear understanding to: “TLDNR”…

Yet a lot of people are reading, myself included, though when I see a long laborious post I’ll usually just skip through to the next one after reading a few lines. Sadly there’s a lot of these in the threads.

I would suggest make a new topic / thread - whatever you want to class it, move these Sim debates etc. into that and unless there’s nothing new to add to the main topic heading request, just let it go to rest.

Well, some of those discussions are directly related to the original topic (since it’s pretty vague to begin with).

Well, as the heading is FORZA DEVS, READ THIS: We are sick and tired of the lack of effort from the devs put into this game, I don’t think discussing if it’s a sim arcade etc. really counts…

Well, until Max or someone else shuts it down, I don’t think you carry the authority to say what we should talk about.

Wasn’t suggesting I had any sort of authority or what anyone should discuss. Just think these discussions should be in a dedicated topic as they have nothing to do with this one.

Temper temper guys. Don’t turn the thread into a barroom sim!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yeah - I suppose I’ll take off my oven mits and store away the feather duster for now.

I was talking about how Cassio’s posts were intriguing because the eras story is infinitely better than the poor progression the recent Horizons have.

@Runoff1999 Just to clarify, and to bury the hatchet regarding the brushup with the GTPlanet thing, you didn’t get any poo reactions. All you’ve gotten were likes and a ‘hmm’ emoji.

Wall of text to bring this topic a little back on track.

When it comes to the core features the focus has to be on driving, driving and driving. And I’m exactly not talking about racing but just driving a car around the map. Then comes racing and with that I’m talking about street and street scene style racing on asphalt. Anything else like offroad (rallye) and cross-country comes afterwards. Something like the Eliminator has nothing to do in this game. All other stuff like clothes, prothesis, hearing-aids and all the other unnecessary bling are irrelevant knick-knack when main features like the AI or convoys aren’t working.

Stop these horrible product tie-ins especially if they don’t fit the overall (main) theme of the game (HW) and even more don’t sell such junk as an expansion. A main map which fulfills the first mentioned points (driving and racing) with other themes like offroad/rallye, cross-country, drift- or drag-racing as expansion on top is the way to go. These preferably on their own maps/islands like for example a rallye only Fortune Island (or the upcoming expansion) you can travel to. Create a “community space” (maybe also a seperate island) where more players then a dozen can come together for carmeets, where cars can be sold directly from player to player, a player can get a car tuned by an other player, the next upcoming car and the design of the last winner of the weekly livery contest gets showcased and what else you can imagine. This direction.

My opinion.

Well, sorry to break it to you, but you wouldn’t have much of anything. This game, the internet, the computer you’re using, your smartphone, probably even your home and most of your food, simply wouldn’t be in your hands except for capitalism. So, you can take your opinion, and nothing else, to a cave if you mean it.
