Reddit. It’s just a render of what it should look like.
Based off what? They’re all taken from scans, I will say to my eyes the Forza version has always looked a bit squashed. but I dont know what to base the accuracy of the red model on.
I didn’t make it. The xbox model is a polished version of the one they introduced back on OG Xbox, though. So it makes sense that back then it was off. It’s long overdue that we got a new car model for it.
ConsumedMuffin1 posted this in the car model thread awhile back.

Has nothing to do with the DLC, That is the main discussion surrounding the AI and they’ve been like that forever. Just to lesser or more a degree.
And yeah, The game version is way to squished, and the headlights are too big. Not as extreme as I expected for such an old model. But its definitely not like the real car.
I have played other racing games with rubber banding AI like NFS and I think the FH5 AI is a bad AI even for rubberbanding AI.
For example, the AI in the PS2 era EA racing games was brutal.
The player could have a 10 second lead over the AI in second place and complete that lap without making a single mistake, but by then the AI would be right behind the player.
However, they did not excessively leave the player behind or, conversely, drive excessively slower than the player, but did their utmost to achieve their goal of a “thrilling racing experience”.
The AI in FH5 does not have that spirit.
What they do is either keep running away with cheat boosts that can never catch up, or conversely, abandon the race and start cruising.
In addition to this, one of the problems with the FH5 AI is the lack of consistency in difficulty levels, even for the same difficulty level.
I don’t know if this is a bug or an intended setting, but sometimes the same race event, same difficulty, same setting can result in a race that is completely un-winnable, while at other times it can be easily won with an overwhelming lead over the AI in second place.
Not only is this useless as an indicator of a player’s skill, but it also means that if the player is unlucky enough to draw an AI with a pattern that will never win, he or she will have to restart repeatedly until the AI is reset to an appropriate difficulty level.
Another issue with the FH5 AI is that the course layout of some courses matches the rubberbanding characteristics of the AI, making it more likely that the AI will be more challenging than on other courses.
These problems were also present in FH3 and FH4, but unfortunately, instead of improving, they became worse in FH5.
We get told we expect “too much”. But this series is supposed to be the one leading the way. Especially with claims like “most technically advanced racing game ever”.
It used to lead the way, as well. That’s why this is sadly a thread now. Keeping that same car model goes beyond inaccuracy. It’s flat out lazy.
I am sick of buying “new” Forza games on new consoles only to see it again.

If they didn’t fix the car models that were presented in the trailer… doubt that its even possible at this point in time. This should’ve been addressed earlier during development. If they didn’t address this feedback the past 5+ years then probably wont do any last minute changes.
Assuming contracts are being locked i imagine it woudn’t be possible. Remodeling cars is a huge deal. I imagine they wouldnt be able to tinker with already established agreements. Which leads me to think forza aero in the current form will remain as well.
If they had any car models updated , even 1 wouldnt they have it showcased by now?
Whether they do or don’t, this is the last Forza game that I will be driving that car model in.
I don’t want to hear how much work it takes. They said it’s built from the ground up, more technically advanced than any other racing game.
Apparently it isn’t built from the ground up. Too many marketing shenanigans.
Wow, Motorsport 4 looks the best. Geez
Maybe its just from that angle but, regardless of whether its “realistic” or not. Based on those images. Motorsport 4 is the nicest to look at.
This is the main reason players can’t find a difficulty level that challenges them, but doesn’t frustrate them, because it goes to an extreme that discourages “Getting Gud”.
There’s a lot of psychology that goes into subtly encouraging players to keep honing their skills, but Horizon 5, throws this out the window in favor of having AI that’s sole purpose is to win at all costs and discourage players from getting better.
This is what’s wrong with the AI on a fundamental level: It doesn’t even try and mimic human opponents in consistency, physics or how it behaves during races. You are racing a pre-programmed machine, and its sole objective is to win even if it means it has to blatantly cheat to do it.
This is why I posted earlier in the thread, the PI system is the root cause of all of these bugs because the same AI we race against is the one the developers use to generate the PI system. The data it produces is too perfect, and it isn’t maintained enough on a regular basis with human input to cull all of the bugs we’re discussing. Hence, we’re left with a broken system that is subpar by today’s standards.
I haven’t run many non-campaign races much in the last month but I tried out a couple today and they took an AI that was fairly predictable to one that is just comically unpredictable. The two races I was trying were the Gran Pantano Sprint and The Goliath. In the Gran Pantano Sprint (A800 class) in unbeatable I was soundly spanked in the 3 attempts not finishing any better than 4th and finishing no closer to the leader than 6 seconds (best time for AI was 2:12:452 faster than the 37 rival time). At the Pro difficulty I finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd with my best time being the 1st attempt (in which I lost by 2 seconds).
In the 2 The Goliath races using S1 900 class cars in Pro I finished 3rd only 17 seconds behind 2nd (at no point was I close enough to see the ID). In the Highly Skilled race I won but just with the last place car finishing 3 seconds behind. I that Highly Skilled race I had a lead passing the Horizon Apex location large enough that 2nd wasn’t on the mini map and I didn’t screw up any of the final turns in the slightest.
In the 2 races I won I got the lead before we reached the 50% mark and even though the AI basically finished on top of me I never really felt threatened after taking the lead. Each of the races I lost I never felt I had a chance. If I lose a race because I screwed up I am fine with that, if I lose one because I never had a chance then the game loses the fun.
Why did they spend time and resources coding this into the game? And can’t we get banned for doing it??
Doesn’t really promote good driving. More the win at all costs mentality they desired to nix by actually removing features from games.
I think I’ve seen more obvious cases but still, totally agree. Banable yes if it’s same team anyway as I understand it, not sure if versus would be enough into unsportsmanship for a ban so maybe the devs deem it ok ? In any case the AI should definitely be teaching good driving and team play. Not copying the worst of player actions. They’ve even taken to joining the corner bomb dogpiles in some races.
There is nothing more that needs to be said. This is why Forza Horizon 5 is not fun game to play long term.
This is also why casual gamers quickly drop the game and don’t stick around long enough to “Get Gud” once they figure out the AI is blatantly unfair. They can’t get better against a system that never competes fairly on the same level as them and openly cheats to keep it’s advantage. Who in their right mind wants to play a game like this? Seriously. This is a failure at the fundamental level by PGG.
There is something wrong with the AI, and I don’t mean that in a sarcastic way.
There is something wrong with the AI at the base level where even AI traffic in the open world will sometimes aim for you if they’re driving in the opposite direction. It’s not just cars with Gamertags, either. It can be nondescript vehicles that will suddenly veer right into you even if you’re in the proper lane going the opposite direction.
I can also report since the the game’s launch, the AI has become progressively worse in races when starting out, too.
In the opening moments of races, I’ve seen AI drive backwards, just stand still, or plow into other cars ahead of it and all of them end up against a wall, or in a field. They aren’t mimicking players. This behavior looks like the AI is malfunctioning, or infected with some kind of computer virus. It’s very strange and a clear indication something is not right.
