Forza 7 installation files on PC?

I want to know the location of the Forza 7 files on PC?

Go to Apps & Features and you can filter by drive to see which one FM7 is installed to, and move to another drive.

Settings > System > Storage > Change where new content is saved will allow you to set a different drive to reinstall the game and DLC.

If you use windirstat it comes up as unknown space. There is no path to copy or anything…

As far as I know the files can’t be moved.

If you want to have it somewhere else, you’d have to redownload to the new location.

All I wanted to know is where the files actually are, the name of the folder they are in, nothing to do with wanting to move them?

Go to Settings>System>Storage> and then click on each drive and go to Apps and games, it should be in one of them.

The files are in a folder you can’t access without changing the owner (security option)

tempo folder for the Windows store downloading files: WpSystem
Folder where all Windows applications are installed: WindowsApps

That can be directly on you C:\WindowsApps or other disk

Don’t mess with those autorizations unless you know exactly what you are doing, that can lead to a lot of problems.

Yep like a life time ban from playing any game online with that account

First I downloaded a little bit of the game basically wait until the 99GB total shows up then I downloaded this to take control of WindowsApps with ease https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/314256d1610376708-add-take-ownership-context-menu-windows-10-a-add_take_ownership_to_context_menu.reg then I backed up my forza motorsport 7 folders with acronis then I had to delete the folders out of WindowsApps because acronis through access denied then I restored while WindowsApps was in control of me. Then to easy correct the permissions to WindowsApps, I downloaded this GitHub - AgentRev/WindowsAppsUnfukker: PowerShell script to fix WindowsApps-related permission errors and crashes. & executed the command successfully. Then resume the game download & It’ll install the game. Done.

psexec.exe -s -i powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File “X:\path_to_the_following_folder_file\WindowsAppsUnfukker-main\WindowsAppsUnfukker.ps1”

I wanted to mention that I found a better solution to backing up & restoring Forza games on PC or any WindowsApps app by first taking ownership of WindowsApps, then backup the apps folders within WindowsApps using Acronis. Then to restore first just begin downloading the game or app again like 10-150MB or however much u feel like then pause, proceed to take ownership of WindowsApps then restore then run WindowsAppsUnfukker, because it saved me so much time! You can fix all the permissions so fast using this script. Once the permissions are fixed and after u restored ur app or game, then just simply start the download again & it’ll proceed to install the game or app which took 30 minutes on a Samsung evo 970 m.2 nvme ssd for Forza 7 on a AMD Ryzen 5 3550h. It took over an hour to install on my AMD A8-7410 with 256gb 2.5" ssd. Since it limits the install speed to 35MB/s on the 2.5" ssd & on the nvme ssd I think it was only going 125MB/s.
