You don’t have enough RAM in your system, Windows is writing memory to disk because it has nowhere else to put it.

This is very likely to be the case. On my system (which I will list below for reference) I cranked all settings to max @1440p and watched VRAM, RAM, and page file usage through 5 races with 24 cars. VRAM got maxed out at 4GB out of 4GB, RAM got up to 7.6GB out of 8GB, and my page file grew from 1.5GB allllllllll the way up to 10.2GB. I opened up Explorer and looked at my SSD free space and sure enough it was 10GB lower than usual, but after exiting FM Apex and waiting a few seconds it went back down to 1.5GB like normal. My guess is that I didn’t have anything more than a half second stutter in one race because of the game and page file being on my SSD, but the way this game/DX12 uses all kinds of RAM is crazy interesting.

Change windows paging path file to the second disk (where windows is not installed) and windows will more not be slow

If more memory is the only solution they should raise the minimum requirements. I have 8 GB of memory in my system and after a couple of races it becomes unplayable.

I’m sure it isn’t intended behaviour. It only occurs after restarting and loading different races so I’m guessing there’s a memory leak somewhere.
I have 16 gigabytes of memory but I get the stutters too after about 7-10 races/restarts because of my GPU’s VRAM not being enough(2GB).
If you’ve got a videocard with less than 4 gigabytes of memory you’ll end up in stutter hell quickly.

Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns and issues. We will pass along the information.
