I respect that Monaco has a lot of heritage in F1 and it’s a beautiful location, but it’s not fir for F1 racing. If the car ahead if you is driving over 5 seconds of the pace and there’s nothing you can do about it, you cannot it’s not racing. If the race is won on Saturday, why even race on Sunday?

The mandatory 2 stop did not fix this and I don’t think the slightly smaller cars of 2026 will fix this either. So please remove Monaco from the F1 calendar, I’ll take any oil-state funded street track over this.

I’d rather go back to the Caesars Palace GP than watch another race like yesterday’s.

I was forecast for a McLaren downfall…

With the rule change known well before this weekend they had plenty of time to change, develop and test a new front wing.
Taking how fast Mclaren turned their car around last year, I didn’t expect them to fall way down the order with this.

I’ve got Piastri winning it all this year.

Stroll will skip this race.

And Fernando will be driving by himself with no teammate as Aston Martin will not be allowed to run a reserve driver.

Knowing Lance, AM might be better off that way…

Hasn’t he scored all AM points this year? O.o

:joy: :joy: Between being a world famous champion race car driver, sim racer, boyfriend, and father the man gets no sleep, or peace of mind. We look at it as entertainment, but I see a human having a 1st world crisis in there :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:.

He was on the radio after being passed by Charles and while being pressed by George. God knows how much talent these guys possess to perform like that. To throw a fit in an unforgiving car that your teammate can barely get into the points with on a good day shows that there are levels to the sport.

All that being said it was still funny and the fact that it involved George is just :cook: :kiss_mark:.

I’ve calmed down now, after that chaotic race. Heart rate was through the bloody roof at the end there.

I am absolutely baffled as to what Red Bull were thinking with their strategy. Absolutely amateurish. Everyone knew the hard tire was not a great race tire, so bolting them on for six laps after a safety car restart, thereby giving up a net lead and fairly new softs in doing so is quite possibly the stupidest thing they could possibly do. They threw away a win today. Max’s soft tires were not that old, and with track position over the McLarens, I have no doubt that he could have held on for six laps to take victory. Instead, RBR not only threw away any chance of Max beating the McLarens, but ultimately left him helpless against Charles.

What Max did today was quite stupid, but I understand why the emotions took control there. He was understandably livid about the braindead strategy and had just been pushed off by Russell. Follow that up with being told to give the place back after doing nothing wrong and he must have been exasperated. Embarrassing race execution from Red Bull today, they got handed a chance to win with the final SC and they completely fumbled it.

Fine driving from Piastri once again though. He did everything right today. Nailed the start, no mistakes, never really looked back. And a sensational result from Nico as well; Sauber in P5 is absolutely mental.

Afk myself for a week but was following on the BBC

Lot of after reports:

Max asked for fresh tyres

“Do we have another set of tyres?” he asked. “It will make a difference, fresh tyres.”

The only softs they had were used with similar laps as the ones he had on.

Hindsight of course would say he prob would have finished 3/4 if he’d stayed out, macca more then likely would have cleared him on fresh tyres.

Strategy was ok until the sc!

MV has since said he acted poorly. PR at work

Any other WRC fans here who would like a general discussion thread for the World Rally Championship?

If there is interest, I would happily make one.
