Forced Cross-Play

Cross Play on FH5 should be OPTIONAL not forced because the amount of hackers you play against on PC is unethical and sets a bad example.

Theres options in the Xbox Settings to disable it if you like, close the game and restart it after changing settings.

Thats for all games BTW so turn it back on if there is something else you play that needs it.

Wasn’t it established that everyone uses ‘Xbox Live’ including all PC players, including on Steam?

That’s a good point, I don’t know so turning this off may not work after all.

I would just like to point out for the record not all pc users cheat or hack, and it annoys us legit pc users just as much that a minority gives the majority of pc players a bad name. Peace out.

Exciting to see more people come around to the idea of an OPTION. If it doesn’t apply let it fly…

Also worth pointing out that certain glitch type cheats are also possible on console.

PC players are liars too apparently!

On a more serious note, has anyone actually tried to disable cross-play on XBox based on the method suggested in this thread? Does it actually work? Do you notice the difference in queue times for online racing, eliminator, team games etc?

Per my reply above and elsewhere earlier in another thread. I did. It does (or seems to). I have, initially at least.

The queue times have climbed again, but not as long as they used to be yet. More importantly for me what I have noticed most is all the magic flying cars are gone. I’m actually finding Eliminator playable instead of pointless and not constantly loading me into a game with a list of scrolling players getting car drops to level 7, 8, 9…

I did notice that straight off as well.

Yes i’ve done it and the queue times are about the same.

On PC? lol.

Do you realize its the same for PC users and Consoles, right? . . . lol.

What option do legit pc players have so they don’t have to play wirh/against those pc players that cheat or hack, what makes console players think they are only the ones who shouldn’t have to play with/against other cheating and hacking players.

I wonder that myself lol. They must consider emselves the “kings” of gaming or something muhahahaha. People still didnt realize the game is exactly the same on PC and consoles. In fact the only differences are UI related changes for obvious reasons. Thats all.

I don’t think console players are saying they are the only ones who shouldn’t have to play with/against cheating hackers. Just that there is * an option that console players have to avoid the bulk of it. An albeit kludgy work around. It sucks that honest PC players don’t have the option. Ultimately (imo) it’s down to MS and the game not detecting and acting against the cheaters and hackers in any meaningful way.

  • …or there may be, as suggested if it’s all through XBL anyway then I dunno, all I can say with certainty is before I turned off cross-play the amount of blatant cheating and hacking I witnessed was huge and since (presumably) cutting the PC side out of the loop I’ve seen little to none of it, just a couple suspect instances that might be down to bad servers / connection issues.
