Focus RS drives just like the ST with just a awd mod. The engine sounds like a generic quiet 4 banger and its also missing the pops and burbles thats famous for it. Also the Focus RS should have a adjustable handling but seems like the car always wants to under steer with no way of correcting midcorner with torque vectoring. I’m really disappointed as this is one of my favorite cars.
Yeap, I immediately did the rally engine swap on this thing, as I do not like how civilized the engine sounds, even after max engine upgrades.
The sound and true-to-character handling nuances is something that’s never going to find its way in a Forza game as long as they keep pushing for cars, cars and more cars.
I do not see what’s wrong with debuting with 150-200 cars on launch and gradually adding DLC over the course of the game’s shelf life.
I have supported Forza for over a decade… and I’d hate to part ways with it. But its changing colors and starting to turn into a generic car-collecting, track racing game.
I don’t think that the lack of cars was the complaint it was the lack of content/depth which was the concern of many. FM5 felt like an expanded tech demo/Forza Lite. Honesty, I think that something can be done to help AWD cars easily, just lower the PI for AWD as opposed to raising it. the jump is because of the improved launch rating but it is a useless statistic because drag racing in FM6 is so neutered. Lower the PI on AWD cars, and they’ll be able to perform on a race course on par with their RWD counterparts.
Without extensive reverse engineering by a game maker using data from driving an actual car or manufacturers sharing some proprietary data with a game maker you just aren’t going to see these active vehicle attributes work in the game how they work in real life. It goes far beyond Turn 10 making it so they can be modeled to start with. They can change their vehicle modeling to fake it with features like that and they still aren’t going to be true to the real car without info sharing that isn’t going to happen or a ridiculous amount of data collection from driving a real car.
If you are expecting any game regardless of sim level to really model these technologies accurately you are going to have to adjust your expectations.
This^^^^^All of it. I’m not one to make excuses for Turn10 especially with how somethings have gone down in this game but it’s just not possible to simulate this car’s handling. Now for the sound and looks yea they can always do better jobs when it comes to that but when a car has “nannys” to make it handle it’s power better/corner better they can’t simulate that because the xbox isn’t powerful enough to do all that.
Same goes for the GT-R(which when Forza 7 comes out there will be a another thread asking why it’s such a pig in game) and any other car like it
Project cars seems to do a pretty good job in that aspect. But back to the OP i was pretty disappointed too with the focus RS. It even looks weird from chase cam from behind. Sounds weak, even the dodge srt4 and mazdaspeed 3 sound a little better. It handles mediocre too. The only upside i like about it is its high top speed.
It also explains the Q50 Eau Rouge and RS7s terrible handling in FM5. The Infinity being GTR stuff underneath and the RS7 having the Audi Sport diff that is even more advanced than the over hyped Focus RS .
