off topic…
Yes, yes you are.
I agree thats its not a great idea especially when the tracks are most likely going to be the ones missing from 7. I was merely commenting on the fact that 6 more months wouldnt do much good. It is a live service, thats what the plan is and with that service comes light release content.
I think if this game came out a few years ago with this plan, it wouldve been more palatable as the series consoles had no games. But unfortunately thats not the case. Its been a long wait for a new installment only to find out the slow burn future this game will have.
Thats how games seem to be these days. We want post launch and we want new content. So whats happened is we’ve increased post launch and decreased the substance of the game at launch. Its like a scale that if you put most weight only on one side of it, the other side will just lean. On top of that the game being next gen only meant scrapping a lot of the old content. So there was one more excuse they could use to release a barebones game.
Its most definitely hurting not just forza but gaming in general. Like its not even objectively worth buying a game at launch unless a player reaaaly reaaaly wants to play it right now, right away. And they say making games is more expensive now. So what the gaming industry has done is dug themselves a a giant hole. They get less money. They have increased costs. So they cut content and rely on post launch to keep players interested as subscription services take over and make money for them.
They dont have an incentive to release full games anymore. Because they’re not making money. It’s probably a lot safer for them to release a crap game, support it and keep some cash coming. As opposed to release a full game and possibly not make enough money to justify the cost if it fails.
From what ive seen they intend to update this game for longer. And they dont have intentions to release another game in 2 years thus this must be another good reason why the new motorsport is what it is at launch.
And if they see players dont enggage in a certain type of content they’ll just cut it/stop working on it as oppose to including in from launch. Because thats not gonna bring them player metrics and they need player metrics to support the game. Again because we the players want post launch. And we want to play these games for longer as opposed to finishing them once and moving on.
I thought Chris mentioned it in the Live Service video, but I rewatched it and mistaken the spot light cars that are already in the launch roster for monthly reward cars. You’re right, the new cars are still stuck behind timed events. Boooo
I played the first Series today where you should get the 2022 BRZ as reward. But after finshing i didnt get it?
How does the reward thing works?
Or is the next event next week the first to get a reward(2014 FXX K)
I dont get it.
In Horizon 5 its alwas clear what rewards you get and if they are exclusive.
No the BRZ is the spotlight car which is 30% off in the showroom like the Ferrari next week. The Acura ARX-06 is the reward car after you done all 4 Weeks events & then the showcase.
The actual campaign we should have gotten, now piecemealed out to us every week.
But you cant buy a 2014 FXX K. Its not in the game. You can buy a 2018 FXX K Evo.
So there will be weekly new cars which are 30 percent and after that? Gone? In cardealership?
The official car list also says : reward car
It doesn’t make sense to put a car in the game as spotlight car, have a reduced price while it’s there and then it leaves again.
I think they introduce every week a spotlight car into the autoshow, at a reduced price for the spotlight week and after that it has the normal price.
But I could be wrong.
Also no clue if the other reward cars will enter the autoshow at some point.
I unlocked the 2017 Ford GT by completing the Modern Tour. I got the car, but it is not in the autoshow for some strange reason.
So you can’t get a second one.
I don’t think the reward cars will appear until Thursday when the season/month starts. No mention of the reward cars and one was TBA yet. I don’t know if they will add an update next week.
I’ve worked out that you need to complete the first builders cup series with the final showcase (which I have just done) to get access to the German series with is part of the reward month I think.
I earned the GT after finishing the first group of careers and then sold it (because I don’t like being gifted cars) before realizing it wasn’t available in the auto show AND you need it for a final event
Hopefully the auction house returns soon so I can buy it back when I want one lmao
Yes, they said the open class changes every month, but the reward at the end is an autoshow car, I checked it.
WHAT?
You shouldn’t be able to sell a car you can’t rebuy, if there is not even an auction house (wich I personally don’t need).
I hope they put the reward cars into the autoshow at a later date.
This is correct.
Sorry, I know I’m late to the party. Is the Builders Cup the only career mode, nothing opens after completion? If so, will more events be added to the Builders Cup in the future ? Thank you in advance for any information I receive.
Well, I’m not a big fan of the “come and go” mechanics, like in FH4 and FH5’s Festival Playlists, and here in FM8, these cars (Audi R8 V10 Performance and Acura ARX-05) are nowhere to be seen in “Buy Cars” and in Free Play. And this is why I made this suggestion right here:
Thats actually not the same as the builders cup. The builders cup is the only fixed campaign content. with the 20 tours and 5 showcase events. Thats the whole campaign. They havent said anything to my knowledge of adding to the builders cup. only the monthly featured, Which will rotate and not stay permanent.
For reference. FM6 Apex, A free techdemo of the game on PC, Had half as many race events as this campaign.
So at least you’re getting twice as much tailored singleplayer content as a free tech demo from 7 years ago.
I think thats what most people assumed when Chris said they would be adding to it every week. Turns out, not only are they not adding to the cup. They arent adding anything. They’re cycling through other events.
It appears that with the roster now, 4/5ths of the entire car list has no place for racing in the campaign, Outside of the rotating events. Meaning 4/5ths of the actual singleplayer game is effectively missing.
I can hold hope that they’ll add new events to the main series. What I can’t do is hold hope that they’re not gonna follow the same formula that every single previous Forza has… build it off of an existing event series, just switch the cars out.
