I don’t have a problem with this at all. Variety is a good thing. What I do have a problem with is when they skip over these cars (i.e. Limo, Caparo, Aztek) or repeatedly skip over specific cars even though they are in Motorsport (i.e. Camaro 25th, Trans Am Ram Air, Pontiac Solstice) in Horizon.
Agreed. I mean, not that it shouldn’t be there, but at the same time it is an useless car on Race aspect, it takes time from T10 crew, space in the game and cuts opportunity of cars that should of being in there such like Corvette C5R, Audi R10 LMS, all GT2 cars from Forza 4, GT1 monsters like the CLK GTR or McLaren F1 GTR, modern GT1 like Matech Ford GT or Murcielago R-GT/R-SV, also iconic road cars like Murcielago, Koenigsegg CCX, F430 Coupe etc. Also Gold members from other Forza games, like 550 Maranello GTS, Top Secret GT300 Supra, Mine’s Skyline R34 and Gallardo Superleggera (1st gen). Instead of this, we get Terradyne Military vehicle, a expendable C2 Corvette from Fast Five that almost noboby cares for it (perhaps Toretto’s RX7 could of been on its place? Just look how many replicas are on storefront), the terrible Pontiac Aztek (for real?), Hummer H1 (which is awesome but I think it needs to be kept on Horizon series only), Off-Road Charger from Fast 7 (probably the Ice Charger on Motorsport 7) and Local Motors Rally Fighter.
Makes me think that the producer is lazy to re-work on older models from previous generation or even new ones (besides some DLC news) and keep using the same and the same and the same models from Forza 5 and Horizon 2 just to fill the spots of the next game, with these kind of vehicle.
Here’s one of my problems with car lists in Forza games. When looking at the race cars, a majority of total car roster would have multiples of the same race car but with different schemes. An example would be the Audi A4 touring car. They would have #02 Audi A4 Touring Car, #03 Audi A4 Touring, and #04 Audi A4 Touring Car. Why couldn’t they just leave it Audi A4 Touring Car and let us paint it with our own number and liveries? You know, make them our own race cars. The same thing with the NASCAR stock cars. Why can’t they just leave us with Chevrolet SS Stock Car, Ford Fusion Stock Car, and Toyota Camry Stock Car and leave us to decorate them? Now Forza 7 is going to repeat the same gimmick, isn’t it?
This is obviously a licensing issue, worthy of its own thread. I rather have a few identical cars with different paints than no cars at all - if that’s what it takes for Forza to get the right to include those cars in the game for us.
I do agree with you on this, there’s a number of cars that has this same effect such as the formula-e cars, Indy cars and some GT cars too. If they took that approach which is to give us just one of each race car from the different manufacturers then that would open up so much more space In the car roster for more individual cars.
If licensing for racing series was that simple, T10 might take that approach. However, licensing a simple car model and a heavily sponsored racing series are not the same thing. For the former, all you need to do is to get the manufacturer’s ok. For the latter, you need to get approval from the owner of the series, the manufacturers, and probably team owners and perhaps even the main sponsors. So it’s not just a matter of giving us a blank car.
I’d like to see V8 Supercars return. I mean, they were included in Motorsport 6, weren’t they? I do want to see all of them return, but as a base model including the numerous liveries that have been seen on it. I dunno if the ones in Horizon 3 were a little teaser and may suggest they’ll be back, but as an Australian, I do want to see them again.
Bugatti Veyron is also not used in the racing. Is this car unnecessary?
“A car for racing”
The act of justifying individual likes and dislikes for this reason is silly.
Don’t use it if you don’t like it. That’s it.
“1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe”.
So will the “SS” badges be missing for the “Super Sport” cars yet again?
2 years later, is Chevy still dealing with “global naming strategies” that somehow impacts the older historic cars like the aforementioned 1969 Camaro SS Coupe?
Ugh this is the kind of stuff that pisses me off, so who’s idea was it to remove them from the game in the first place? Does anybody know, was this Chevy, Microsoft, or Turn 10? If this was indeed T10 I would love for them to include an option to have them appear on the cars in my game. The badge has nothing to do with the WWII organization and the cars look weird without them imo. A simple on/off option would work wonders.
Anywho has anybody heard the schedule for car list release? I’m super anxious to see this 700+ car list.
