FM6 Top Gear Car Pack for April

Still no S14 :frowning:

Boo Hoo.

While this isn’t my favourite pack, I do rather like the 2 Jaguars. And the Ferrari looks like a beast too. Good job T10. Now my only complaint is having to hear Chris Evans’ awful voice in the trailer…

The thread shows exactly the problem Turn 10 faces with each DLC, no matter what is in the pack some will hate it and some will love it. Everyone has a right to express their opinion, it is disappointing that soo many have to display such rancor though. You like the pack you don’t like the pack so get it or don’t. If you don’t like the whole pack get the individual cars you do like. Personally I will most likely not get the pack as there is nothing that is a must have and I’m pretty much done with the game and ready to move on. The lambo league/rival contest reminds me of why I generally avoid multiplayer and I only have a few races left to complete career so it’s time to cut back, check in occasionally and play something else until Horizons comes out.

@PORSCHEGANG: Really? Wow. Pot meet kettle.

Right. The pack.

“Top Gear Pack”? Not necessarily. “Fat Man Pack”? That’s more like it (the cars in the pack combine for a combined weight of around 30,000 lbs.), and would still work with the TG theme, if the original host were still around…

The RR: I wonder if the company knew how much hate they would get from this community after that Rivals fiasco. T10: “No no no, RR! It will be good press! We promise! Your car will finally actually be used by someone! Oh, and by the way, we’re giving away a car to those that beat insurmountable odds, a select group which makes up about .000001% of the FM community. But don’t worry; there’s no chance that the other 99.99999 percent will hate your car – and any RR we bring in after it – because it’s a useless pig of a machine that they’re forced to spend hours driving, often with little reward.”

The SVR: “SVR”; those letters are great, but I’d much prefer they be attached to something else, like the recently-revealed F-Type SVR. I don’t care for SUVs, don’t drive SUVs, don’t play MP so if I buy the complete pack, this one will just be there so I can reach the 300 garage count, which I assume will be earning me some in-game rewards in future Forzas.

Speaking of the F-Type SVR:

The Project 7: Ahhh. Now we’re talking. Technically, it is the F-Type SVR in spirit because that car got a lot of its tuning from the Project 7 which, along with the E-Type Lightweight, was responsible for the birth of Jag’s SVR division. I also like it because it sounds great, looks even greater and can actually take the fight to Porsche and BMW IRL, which is not something we’ve always been able to say about Jag’s sports cars. Very happy for this.

The FXX K: For a long time, I’ve said that I wasn’t a modern supercar/hypercar guy, but lately I’ve found them to be quite fun in Free Play. Looking forward to giving this one a go on LM, Rio and Watkins Glen.

Audi R8: This may be the most boring car in the history of the world. Not just the most boring sports car; the most boring car, period. Seriously; when I think of the R8 in any of its forms, I get the same feeling I do when I think of a Prius. I am not kidding. Even the manual option is gone.

Charger Hellcat: Well, if nothing else, I guess it’s good that this heavily-requested car has finally arrived. May be fun in short bursts, but I dunno. Pretty average stuff.

Jaguar XJ-S: The Crown Jewel of the pack? Well, it’s a close race between this and the Project 7. This is another heaily-requested car that could very well be fun, once I up the ante in the handling department. Tires, lightweighting, new transmission and race exhaust, and Bob’s your unc.

I guess the saddest thing for me is the lack of any race cars. Maybe we’ll get a race car-heavy pack later on.

Looks like somebody didn’t arrange for whitelisting of their channel against Content ID…

Hey guys,
I see both points of view about this pack. I fall squarely into the ‘more cars make the game more exciting, even if they’re not my personal favorites’ group. I love modern cars and I love classic cars and I love oddball cars, and I really really like most of these cars and am willing to give those that I’m less excited about a shot, cause, why not? But I also understand how some are perturbed by the fact that almost every cars is an ‘updated’ or ‘re-skinned’ version of a car we already have. Do I really think we absolutely needed another F-type? Not necessarily. Will I be happy driving an F-type convertible (project 7 no less)? Of course. I can use the same logic for basically every car in this pack. I get why people are upset, and I’m not unsympathetic, but I can only speak to my personal opinion, and turn 10 will definitely be getting my $7 and I doubt I’ll be regretting that decision.
now… I hate to be ‘that guy’, but what time are we expecting it to drop, again? I know it’s practically the same time every month, but I can’t seem to remember what time that is.

$7, or $7.80 to us in the UK -_-

I don’t think anyone will be able to top this manufacture livery, this is beautiful.

Free Car : Aston Martin Vulcan (March) and McLaren P1 GTR (April)

I see a lot of opinions about people’s thoughts on the car selection but not a single one on how they sound or handle.

I’m especially interested in the sound. Does the Charger Hellcat have the same tranny whine bug as the Challenger Hellcat? No, its not the supercharger whine, but the tranny whine that gets louder as you shift to higher gears and stays at the same volume even though the car is half a mile away from the camera in replays

How does the FXX sound? Did it get the short-end like the LaFerrari?

If these cars sound spot on, then I guess I don’t mind picking them up. Though I’m getting tired of all the Rolls, SUVs, vans etc. The game seems to be losing its motorsport roots with each game and DLC pack. Wish it would be restricted to ‘cars worthy of racing’. The extras like these non-track cars can be offered as free DLC? Just a thought.

You should peep the trailer. If those sounds were not edited in the trailer then all these cars will sound excellent.

I wish theyd do car packs with fairness in mind. This pack contains at least 2 C class, 2 A’s an S and a P. Not a single R class, which is a joke. Yes i like the pack and yes ill get my moneys worth, but hows this pack fair on the guys that race more in R and S classes. The last 2-3 packs have been littered with C’s B’s and A’s.
Still no DTM’s which ive been praying for for months now, no aston gt3, no m6 gt3, no ford GTLM.
Im not saying no one uses the lower class as a lot of people do, i just think the packs lean too much towards the lower end of the spectrum.
We get the FXX K and its in low P, totally useless in hoppers. This is an R900 all day.
I think for fairness, each pack of 7 should contain at least one of each class. D,C,B,A,S,R,P or remove a P for an E etc etc. This make it fair and everyone has at least one car that they may actually have a genuine use for competitively. Il enjoy playing around with these cars but its sad that theres not at least one R class in this pack when after all it is ‘motorsport’

I think you’ll see the Rolls Royce Aircraft Carrier in S/R class hoppers shortly, terrorising everything.

This is what a car pack should look like, loaded with 2015, 2016, 2014 and just one pre-2000 car. Today’s generation don’t mind classic cars every now and then, so in the future please limit these entrants to 1 or 2 per car pack. This is one car pack I don’t mind spending $7 for!! Nice touch T10 on the Ferrari FXX K and the Charger Hellcat !!!

Well the FXX K is a real terror on the track. Shame it’s a low-P class/ there isn’t a dedicated division (Megacar ? Extreme Track toys ?) for this car and the One:1.

Shame indeed; it won’t be competitive at P/998 and if it can be downgraded to R/900 it’ll be severely outclassed by the leaderboard cars in that class.

Much like the One:1 it sits at a PI level where it just won’t be competitive in the Hoppers no matter where you put it.

I kind of expected that and as a result it gives me no reason to buy it (it was the one car I was vaguely interested in from the whole pack).

I’m sure it’s a blast to drive and if you’re the kind of player that does a lot of Free Play then it may be worth picking up. I’m a Hopper racer though and already have a garage full of cars that I would rather choose.

Damn u guys will never be satisfied. This pack is a helluva lot better than previous packs that’s for sure. Stop crying there are tons of cars in the game. The FFX K is a sick car.

Was browsing the galery and found out tha they also sneaked a 2008 Ferrari California into the game, went to a private online lobby to check it out, and is not buyable plus the AI can’t drive it.

So yeah, probably next unicorn car right there.

stuff
