First Impressions?

• Overall, I think it looks great. Not too much of a departure from Horizon3, but H3 was great so why change things too much.

• Dynamic seasons looks cool, curious to see how much of that will be under player control.

• Motorcycles - I’m quite certain they’re only going to be part of a showcase event, which feels a bit cheap to tease them given how long people have been wanting motorcycles in the game.

• I’m really hoping for a lot more customization options, which there didn’t seem to be much sign of in the trailer - but it’s obviously very early days yet.

• Although I’m done pre-ordering T10/Motorsport games after the way Forza7 has gone, I think Horizon3 was a very solid game and it’s probably worth preordering the sequel.

I am extremely excited. I read the main article on the home page and there are two things that stand out to me.

Route Creator
Character customization (clothes, accessories and so on)

As far as the motorcycles are concerned, I have a feeling thatll be part of a showcase event. Same with the giant hovercraft.

Seems cool but I don’t really give a xxxx about UK, I find it boring. I would have preferred Japan, at least the “drift train” scene would haven’t been that cringy in that setting.

Oh well, gonna wait FH5.

While I, on the other hand, am very glad it is UK and not Japan.

Me too. I’m not a drifter, I’m a racer. And I like nothing better than getting on a winding Country Road and really ripping some serious speed while racing. Snapping switchbacks and attempting to drift around corners at 25 miles an hour does not excite me. However I know there’s a large group of you that are into that and you could bet a dollar or two that one of the two expansions will very likely have something like that. Typically the expansions are significantly different from the main game, look at the last one that had snow and Hot Wheels.

How could you be a racer and only like to race around the typically wide corners of Horzion 3 and likely Horizon 4? Perhaps not a road full of hairpins, but drifters are just looking for variety. You can even tell how much less technical the roads have become based off of everyone’s preferred upgrade style in online races. In FH2, grip was mostly prioritized over speed upgrades (S1 cars were guaranteed to have Race Tires). In FH3, everyone’s running 600+hp with stock or street tires because the roads are so linear that you’d get dusted if your car wasn’t flying. Also, you would probably lose those one or two dollars that you bet, since Forza has historically refused to cater their expansions to any group other than rally enthusiasts or include random sponsorships. There’s been a rally expansion map in every Horizon game, followed by some stupid partnership (Hot Wheels, Fast and Furious). Drifters took FH2 map design for granted. Doubt I’m getting this at launch. Fool me once…

AGREED! I too am a racer, high HIGH speeds please. Though I do drift during my races around corners instead of hard braking and speeding out of the turns. The low speed drifting is extremely boring to me. The 72 player server is gonna be wild. I probably wont play online for a couple week so I can get all the routes down

Whether I pre order or not is 100% based on if FM7 homogenisation continues, I was burned by fm7 too.

Ign has a lengthy interview thats worth a read. I think the game is gonna sell like hot cakes. All i can say is that turn 10 better get their stuff together or we’ll be seeing a playground games icon on the next motorsport game. :yum:

At this point I think that’s exactly what Should happen. I’d love to see what Playground could do with a more serious track based racing game. Their track record has been great lately while T10 is going downhill fast.

Playground are busy with Fable.

That wouldn’t be a terrible thing I suppose haha.

England has a plenty booming car culture. What you really mean is “wahh, I wanted to drift in Japan, so I’ll make up nonsense about the setting so it looks like I’ve got an argument to stand on”.

I’m struggling to think of any racers in Japan to be honest, outside of the Midnight Club games, and the handful of Initial D games on the Playstation. I suppose Automodellista could come under that too. Having what looks like (hoping the Car Pass covers all Car Packs again) all the DLC in the Ultimate Edition is going to be a definite pre-order for me I think.

It looks like the traditional ‘car packs’ are out the window. 2 new cars every week for 21 weeks, think I actually prefer this instead of monthly.

Interesting way of doing it. I’ll rephrase my post then, hopefully the Pass includes all the additional cars!

Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Zero

Was watching an interview with Ralph (sp?) and he was talking about stuff like buying a house and having a job within the festival. HYPE!

Can you guys please post links to these interviews? A search on YT yields nothing so far.

Oh cool its forza horizon 2 again…why not go somewhere where there’s actual car culture, like Japan perhaps?? E3 2018, what a disappointment…guess ill wait for forza horizon 5 to probably just be let down again, maybe you could do a forza game with a ton of trucks and fields, because that would be awesome…
