Fired up 4

So I fired up fh4 just now. WOW all I can say is hitting the freeway tunnel in the RTR spec mustang made me really see the glaring facts! It was that awesome feeling I’ve lacked in fh5. After having my palate drowned in fh5 since it came out…it is brutally apparent of the shift from a serious car enthusiast racing/driving game, to a childish fantasy vroom vroom story. Everything about the look of fh4 is just a much more mature creation. I thought the cars sounded better at least in fh5…nope. They actually do sound better in 4. And the tracks…already bored of fh5 tracks…fh4 tracks seem to just be layed out better. More enjoyable. The map…there is more of a sense of realism in fh4 driving the open world. Cities, suburbs, villages mountains, forests, beaches coastline. Fire up 4 and see the glaring differences after a few weeks of playing 5

Fired it up… the graphics are worse - flatter, duller, and more pop-in. The cars don’t feel as good to drive. The engines sound qualitatively worse, but at least you can hear them better while driving (the tunnel effect is certainly pleasing). The music is better. And there are some cars I miss. For better or worse, the menu is just more.

Music is much better in FH4, 5 is so disappointing, I would pay extra for better music or a DLC with decent songs. But I also went back into FH4 and I do have to say 5 looks better in a lot of ways but not a lot.

I think you didnt fire up FH4 but other completely different game rofl. Graphics are exactly the same or even better because there isnt so much shimmering and popin as in FH5. The cars feel as good as in FH5 or even better because you dont have that feeling you are driving over skates. But i guess people will keep trying to justify their buys of FH5 in whatever way they can lol.

It’s not that difficult.
Just lower tyre pressure to somwhere around 1,9-2,1 bar.

FH5 is on Game Pass. Hence I paid far more for FH4. I don’t have a mad hate worked up over either game, nor am I a squeeing fanboy for either.

FH4 was a lot of things.

Mature and serious though? For car enthusiasts/drivers?

No mate just no, the ‘childish fantasy vroom vroom’ stuff that you see in FH5 and any subsequent entry into this series all began in FH4.

Maybe so but being I started this futile journey in 4…Id have to say 5 is a bib and bottle compared to 4. Smashing piñatas for god sakes…

Huh? Are you an attention seeker? Or just a poor troll? Everything that you have listed is a complete joke. Agree with Ti Hsien though… the music was better. Other than that, FH5 is far superior in everything. So stop writing nonsense in here and embarrasing yourself. Jeez… kids these days…

Huh…Im just stating an opinion.

FH5 is superior? Yet anyone with half a brain cell can see it’s the same rehashed system from FH4? FH4 and FH5 combined are a joke compared to previous titles so stop embarrasing yourself by mocking other people’s opinions.

He is clearly relating to the feel the game gives you whilst driving around. If you want to counter an opinion at least offer your own evidence from why FH5 is superior when it comes to immersion.

How is FH4 more immersive? Map is flat like pancake. Is it because Mexico doesn’t have snow?
Are you flat earther?

Immersion is not measured by just the map, but what takes place within it. FH4 had a foundation coming from FH3 whereas this garbage we have is copy and pasted. That in itself makes FH4 more immersive as it felt newer. Ever since the introduction of avatars, festival playlist etc. This takes you out of the world your in and into a gimmick rather than a racing game.

What does flat earth have to do with this conversation?

Yes, FH4 took FH3 map, looked at it and threw all variety out of window, made all parts of map look extremely similar. You can even drive from one end of the map to opposite end of map without crashing at high speed if you just dosge all 4 trees on your route.

Driving also feels like you’re in virtual reality which has incorrect physics especially when offroad.

FH4 has lots of trees… and one thing it has in terms of variety is the distinct seasons, which in FH5 are seemingly indistinguishable.

It also has a city which FH5 lacks, replaced by a small town with claustrophobic tight streets which all look much the same.

There’s reason for that. Do you know what it is?
That’s exactly why I asked are you flat earther.

Playing Eliminator in FH5 you see a lot of the map that you might not normally see otherwise, and they really did phone it in compared to FH4 imo. I defy anyone to really know whereabouts they are half the time, most of the map is open and barren, lots of bushes, cactuses, trees and rocks.

I’d like to suggest people who think FH5 looks amazing, go and play Days Gone on PC and see what a genuinely impressive open world looks like, with more impressive and realistic weather, which can change through any season without needing to use loading screens either.
