A few gripes aside this game is miles better than H3.
The lighting has significantly improved. The Sun is now a proper spotlight shining brightly through the trees. The taillights at night are really cool now. The roads have great textures… in H3 they were bland. Winter looks incredible. Summer looks great. Autumn looks alright.
The outside garage and Forzavista is a nice touch.
The PI system is much improved. More like H2. My 288GTO is far more competitive which is a huge thrill for me.
The races I’ve ran so far flow pretty well. There’s enough long curvey straights in between all the tight corners. I’ve come across only a few races, mostly circuit, that seems to be designed for lower class cars. I really hate corses that I can’t bring my S1 class to. The roads themselves are more comparable to H2 which is fantastic… Main highways are very realistic in layout… lots of long straights to cruise full speed without stressing unexpected tight corners.
UI looks good.
Haven’t dived into online mode much but Forzathon live is good for kicks.
Sound in cockpit mode is not muffled. Can actually enjoy cockpit mode now. Would still like to roll my window down.
Radio stations play better music. Led Zeppelin? You bet… I’m gonna miss groove music though.
Completely agree, its been a while since i’ve been sucked this deep in a forza game. They are definitely heading in the right direction.
BTW it runs very well for being day one release with no updates.
Yeah I’ve been playing nonstop since Thursday night, I simply cannot remember the last time I had this much fun in a game. The actual driving and track design are improved overall, more destructible objects, all the fine tuning they did overall makes it feel better than FH3 in many aspects. It’s almost like the roads are a little wider or the cars maybe smaller in proportion, I don’t know but I just had a lot of close races online and the gameplay has never felt better for me.
I’m playing it at 4K-30fps on the X, I tried the 60fps mode but personally the 4K mode is smooth enough for me, staying with that for now due to the extra graphical detail…and let me just say, as a bonus this game has some of the best graphics on Xbox ever, and easily outclasses FH3 imo. My only minor gripe so far is the clubs, I preferred the way they did it in FH3…otherwise super happy with the game, I love the UI overhaul, all the extra modes, the game’s music is fantastic overall and the 4 seasons will greatly increase the replay value, I can see the awesome differences because when you play online adventure it changes seasons in between matches.
