“We will have Tokyo City in the game, which is probably our most complex and intricate space of drivable area in a Horizon game yet.” - Playground Games art director Don Arceta

Congratulations on the announcement of the release of Forza Horizon 6. I’ve been waiting for it to be set in Japan. With the release of the PS5 also being announced later, I really hope that the MS-PC version of FH6 will be able to use the PS5 controller and feature DualSense and haptic feedback vibrations.

Revealing gameplay on the January 2026 dev direct? Hopefully along with a release date. I hope you don’t drag it out until fall. Please prove me wrong.

Thank you very much for these early details. This is great news for all Forza Horizon fans and for the Horizon franchise. Playground Games has hit home runs with FH4 (still popular almost a year after delisting) and FH5 (the biggest and most successful auto sport game on the planet). Huge compliments to everyone who has worked on and continues to maintain these titles. Please keep your winning and successful strategies for FH6, building on the successes of the past. Please don’t make false promises or grossly misleading statements prior to the release of the game, as happened with Forza Motorsport. Please don’t release an unfinished, buggy, almost unplayable game, as happened with Forza Motorsport. And please don’t allow the game-killing approaches of the Forza Motorsport team to infect and ruin what everyone loves about Forza Horizon.

Just seen it and watched, and gotta say I’m pretty disappointed. Four years and we still got basically nothing (similar state to at Xbox Games Showcase).

And from what the quotes to me read they’re pointing to, it’s quite likely at least another year before we get anything new in a Forza game. For me, I’d have rather heard nothing than get this, but it looks like that’s a minority view online, and that’s cool.

I remind you that FH5 was announced in June 2021 and was released in November. So, 5 months of communication, so it’s normal that having so much missing they didn’t say anything else, but with TGS, they took advantage of the location to communicate it. The team has already said they will give new info at the beginning of 2026, so the dev direct in January. If it’s as I think, it will be released by spring, because then in autumn there’s Gears or Fable. There’s no point in complaining about waiting; the important thing is that the extra time brings the refinements that have been requested for a long time, a 900-degree steering, cars that are no longer recycled, another step in improving the sounds, more interactive car (windows, turn signals, etc.), garage to keep at least our favorite cars and be able to walk around them. and obviously a completely new tuning that doesn’t have standard Forza parts.

We heavily suspected Japan and that’s confirmed.

It’s got Tokyo.

The physics of the new game will be a bit different from FH5.

We’ve been forewarned about some base models like the Trueno getting remodelled & we’ll greet those cars after FH6 is launched.

Other than that, it’s radio silence until after Christmas & it’ll be probably a year until its launched.

I’m elated people are elated but it’s kind of “wake me up until there’s info I can sink my teeth into” with me.

I hope you’re right but now I personally think a pre-GTA6 date is off the table, but either way, why not just wait until January to actually show something off? Because what they’ve put out could have been made any time in the past four years.

I guess I am complaining, but as much really I’m sad.

Back to the announcement, I’ve remembered the latest thing I’ve got wrong is I thought if it was going to be Japan, with it being effectively closed off as an island, they would have gone with Hokkaido as the location. So it’s going to be interesting to see what ‘Tokyo’ looks like, given it seemed impractical to create.

Can’t wait to wear a Kimono! /s

Looking forward to this. Doubt I’ll pay for premium this time around and will just game pass it.

Finally, I have been waiting a long time for this!

Those of us that have been around from the very beginning of the Horizon series probably won’t even think this is real. We’ve wanted Japan for so long and it’s finally happening.

As I feared. After all the hours I have played Horizon 1 - 5, I will be skipping this one completely. Sadly, I have zero interest. I have never liked any of the JDM vehicles. I have never liked any of the tracks based in Japan in FMS. I totally hate drifting.

i am happy for all those who want this, though. WIll be checking back in 4 years to see the location of Horizon 7.

I know you’re being sarcastic about putting on a kimono and all, but I bet that it would be cool to dress the Drivatar up in montsuki-haori-hakama.

Other than that, you know what would be cool? If they get permission from Polyphony Digital to include the Vision Gran Turismo concept cars as guest vehicles in the game! Imagine taking a leisurely cruise through the Japanese streets in the Chaparral 2X or maybe go barreling off a Danger Sign ramp in the SRT Tomahawk X at top speed to achieve some serious hangtime and distance!
