FH3 Moderator Pro Tip: Ban Threads

Using those designs in single player could get you banned too
If your drivatar is “wearing” them in someone else’s multiplayer etc they could also get reported
Its probably best to stay away from anything offensive or controversial for your own safety

Dont think driving standards here are anywhere near as strict as Forza 6 would be

I thought the liveries on the drivatars were randomly selected from the storefront?

I sometimes use a secondary account and i have often followed my primary accounts drivatar around and it has the same livery as what it has in my garage
So maybe not always

A report does not equate to a ban. 50,000 reports does not equate to a ban. Accidental racing incidents would not result in a ban.

Deliberately going out of your way to ruin someone elses race by taking them out may. I am not sure if the same rules apply to FH as FM though.

I think it doesnt apply in FH the racing as because I managed to get a clip of someone deliberatly trying to smash me into a wall in FH2; I showed a mod who stated that as there are no replays a clip isnt enough. Also that you get rewarded for hitting things (to which I replied yes you get rewarded for hitting fences not other players; you actually get a clean racing bonus). I was advised to just report them to the PET team as they can observe behaviour. Infuriating especially when sometimes you get a noob club who gang up on you but not much else we can do

I’ve recently read about some idiots who apparently thought it was okay to put the F-word and pedophilia such as “Free Candy” on their designs, knowing that young kids play this game too. How sad…

Heh, I remember spending hours on FM4 some nights, just reporting violations while searching for useful vinyls. Sometimes I started feeling guilty for reporting so many, and making so much work for the Snowowl, lol.

The idea that this could become a problem again is my only real reservation about the SF at this point. I’m kind of dreading getting serious about looking through for useful things, once I get in the mood for making myself some serious race liveries.

I just do not understand why these people are given no clear & explicit explanation when they receive an email telling them they are banned - isn’t that the obvious solution to all these unwanted threads ? It is incredibly self-defeating to mete out apparent justice without any explanation even if you think the offender must know what they did wrong. When I read that somebody was banned for having Free Candy written on the back of a van I shook my head in total disbelief, what sort of demented thinking labels that offensive ? And I don’t buy the tripe about offences against children, that is absolute rubbish - I know what I am talking about regards that due to my past career.

I have to say that in my short time here the one thing most apparent is that communication appears to be both the weakest attribute as well as the lowest priority of this development company. Such a pity as this is the most fun free roaming driving game I have ever played, and I played them all though not Horizon games. There is some incredibly strange things about these forums and not too pleasant either.

It might be the most hilarious and non-offensive joke there ever was. But that’s irrelevant. At the end of the day it’s still inappropriate.

Your attitude is what is wrong with the devs and moderators trying to do their job. Just because you don’t find something offensive it does not make it acceptable.

Your example of the “Free Candy” logos is often one of the main ones getting people banned. This game has been rated for play by everyone and that logo could very easily offend someone. Your ‘past career’ bears absolutely no relevance on the matter.

People agree to the Microsoft ToS and receive the secondary warning when they go into the paint editor to remind them of the acceptable content they must produce. If they go and make an offensive paint which results in a ban on their account it does not require a detailed explanation after the fact. They get told that the ban was due to them breaching the ToS, that is sufficient. Just about every person I have ever seen complaining about bans relating to the storefront actually go as far as to highlight what they have done and plead that they are naive to how it is something which warrants a ban. I am surprised that the moderators show them as much courtesy as they do, most of these idiots need a simple message: “Go back and read the ToS before you upload ANY content onto a public storefront. If you couldn’t be bothered reading it before posting your design, I couldn’t be bothered spelling it out for you.”

There is nothing at all wrong with my attitude. More to the point is the small minded & infantile level of thinking that could possibly judge the term Free Candy as offensive. Perhaps you live somewhere in the world that is stuck in 1950 but you obviously do not get out much if that could measure as offensive by any standard. Seemingly there is an utter lack of discriminative thinking and extremely low level of common sense intelligence to argue such a point as being valid. And yes my past career does add relevence and ability to look at this with a more intelligent view as I have dealt first hand with the people you claim this saying is representative of. This would all be funny if i wasn’t so utterly pathetic. The level of control and paper puppet power that is wielded here is incredible. But I realise I am likely arguing with a late teen or someone fresh out of university who indeed believes they know everything about everyone and how they think. Thankfully the narcissistic powers that formulate these sort of rules are restricted to the little tin can world of “Forza” else they would quickly be schooled in the harsh reality of actual life. And by the way I do not and have not uploaded any sort of image in game, however I do have the ability to judge the difference between truth and nonsense. Argue away as I have nothing more to say on this, as I am totally disgusted at the way an issue as serious as this has been trivialised and compared with graphics in a game !

That’s good, because there’s nothing to discuss. Rules are rules.

A Moderator with a sense of humour. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Laugh, because I know I have been good and reported bad people.

driving car without no rules, making illegal street racing on open roads, go reverse of road and breaking all you see in game it’s ok for child education, but take care, if you draw a leaf or if you write 18+ on your car, you can make your child really drug addict (even if can’t recognize no pattern), but let your child driving like they whant, it’s good for there education…

you never see me more on this forum.

All we need is for everyone to abide by the Microsoft Code of Conduct, and Luciole that includes you and the drug livery with +18 on it you attempted to sell in Designs. Really simple, if you were honest and held up your end of the bargain.

When you created your gamertag, you pledged to live by the Code. You didn’t. You earned a ban from Forza Horizon 3 instead. That’s on you, not on any method of notification to the players. You have been notified from the very beginning when you created your account.

Neither bans nor the enforcement of the regulations by Turn 10 employees are subject to discussion on these forums. You may send an email, if you want an email back, to them at forzafb@microsoft.com. You’ll have to wait a while, they’re pretty busy and have a high volume of emails.

#1 those threads are hilarious
#2 if you simply said “language in your livery” you’d educate them and us as well

I tried to make a bucket list that had a person’s name in it… it was blocked for language. Trust me, the name I was using was not in any way shape or form a naughty word. Just tell us.

I attempted to change my tack when going through offensive designs on the sharefront. I decided to contact the perpetrators and ask them why they had posted such a design and did they not know it would get them a ban. Three people told me to “get ******” and other things, comments about them and my mum, comments about my sexuality etc etc. I told them i would then report them for communication violations as well as in game for TOS violations. I got a fair bit of abuse but not one of them apologised for their actions or cared.

One of them even told me he did it deliberately to upset people to see how many “sad losers” would “whine” to him about his “amazing paints”. Guy was a complete tool. I have now gone back to my old system of finding and reporting anything i feel breaks the TOS.

Maybe i’m wrong, but i play this game with my children. Whose ages range from 3 to 8 yrs. In other words I don’t want them seeing that trash. I don’t want to have to explain why somebody thought it was OK to draw genitals on their car, or why they made a police car livery and then wrote swear words on it as we saw a couple of days ago.

If people want to put that stuff on their own cars in their own game, that’s fine, but i only let my kids play certain games, such as Forza which is rated as 3+ or ok for all. I use the ratings as a guide, i don’t stick rigidly to them but they point me in the right direction as to the attitude of the developers and whether they wanted to make a kid friendly game. Therefore anyone who ignores that rating is fair game for reporting. If you idiots can’t realise that a game rated suitable for all is no place for adult content, then you deserve the bans you get. It’s right there on the front of the game box, 3+ or U or whatever rating a game is.

Now i’m perfectly happy for people to put that stuff on their cars, guns, avatars in games such as GTA or COD as they are rated adult and I would be ready for that content and not have my kids playing it. I hate censorship for many reasons, but sometimes such as with young children, they aren’t psychologically ready for “adult” content and it is our job as adults to protect them from that until they are mature enough for it.

To the mods, i’m sorry for any extra work i give you with my reporting, but hopefully if the community comes together to report this stuff, we can speed up your job by you not having to go looking for this garbage!

To my fellow reporters, Good on you! Don’t feel guilty reporting this stuff, as they usually are well aware of the rules and don’t actually care from my experience.

See it, report it, forget it.

Spot on Mitchy!

So here’s a curious thing, a little while ago a certain Moderator had, what could be classified as an offensive term in his signature block. Well it’s not there now. Did he get a ban? Maybe he banned himself. I wouldn’t have raised it back then but you know…

Perhaps he gave himself a stern talking to in the mirror (in between ‘man I look good today’).
