FH Car Voting - Questions and Corrections (READ the first post)

They’re close enough that it’s fine, the normal 300 SL was used in racing too even though it’s road legal unlike the SLS.

Plus we’d prefer not to undo topics if it can be avoided.

But I thought race cars have their own topic and are not included in the same topic as their homogolation(a road version of a race car) or the road car its based of
Please give it its own topic and perhaps merge it with the W194 and rename it to Mercedes 300SL Race Spec and make a poll as I am sure there were other 300SLs used for racing of a different model year

Some are, some aren’t.

Mostly we do separate them but it depends on a case by case basis.

Since there’s only two other variants of the 300 SL and they’re all fairly similar plus the standard model also being used in Motorsport then this particular case is fine.

The other version of this 300 SL used in racing is basically the same as the one we have ingame so that’s why there’s no race spec topic.

And the W194 300 SL is way more different from the 300 SLS than the 300 SL is to the SLS so those won’t be merged.

Then give the roadster its own topic and the 300SLS its strange seeing road
and race cars in one topic it doesnt make any sense

We have some others topics like this so it’s going to remain as is.

No matter how weird you may find it.

So it was a missunderstanding from me and there a special cases where its the case like this and those werent accidental mistakes

Yea for a few cars we keep some of the models together for ease of tracking.

It’s generally when the cars are very similar between the race and race spec or they’re both used in the same racing series in some form.

The McLaren Senna variants for example have some road-legal and non-legal variants of the Senna GTR.

Generally it only happens when the race model isn’t actually used in a racing series (like GT3 etc) but it’s instead more if a special edition track car. Formerly some of the Porsches had this like with the modern 935 was first unveiled it was in the normal 911 (991) topic.

Some other stuff like the McLaren 620R was also in the standard McLaren 570S topic and a few other track-special supercars or sports cars.

For the Mercedes 300 SL it was originally used for racing in stuff like the Mille Miglia and other Sports Car events and so was the SLS so they fit close enough for us to put them together.

Especially since the ingame 300 SL can be converted from the road model to the race model by removing the bumpers in the Aero menu.

The 620R is road legal so its fine

The original W194 still has a different grille so its not a complete conversion we can do

Ah didn’t realise, I thought it wasn’t.

Its based of the 570S GT4 but made road legal so its the Ultimate 570S and not the 600LT

I mean the W198, the racing version for the Gullwing can be recreated ingame

The W194 has its own topic though since it’s a different body as well

They made a racing version of the W198 Coupé?

Only detail we’re missing ingame is the headlight covers but a few didn’t run them.

Well I thought the W198 itself was the result of a road legal version of the W194
But if that isnt the case can you make a topic called Mercedes 300SL W198 Race spec

No, because the model ingame is essentially the race car.

You just need to remove the bumpers and you have it.

No point having a duplicate car where the only difference is that you can’t add bumpers back onto the race car.

Please do it if it counts as a version in real life then it doesnt count as a duplicate

No

They’re literally the same, just irl people took them racing.

That’s the whole point of classic sports car racing, you could buy a car off the showroom floor and immediately go race it.

If you really want the race car in the game then buy it from the Autoshow, take the bumpers off in the upgrade menu and then put a livery on it.

Was racing really that simple back then were all race cars road legal back then
