1948 Lotus Mk 1, which was Colin Chapman’s first car that he designed and built before he started Lotus itself, based on an Austin 7 chassis.


Mind you, pictured here is not the original Mk 1, but a faithful replica of it realized by Colin’s son, Clive. The original Mk 1 was purchased in 1950 by an unknown trialist in the North of England after two years of successful competition in trials racing, but the car disappeared off the face of the earth, despite efforts to find it.

I won’t bite until an actual car is physically made by this company. Start-ups come and go all the time, and their performance figures are almost always, shall we say, optimistic.
