FFB, is it fixed? UP: [PC] Thank the gods, Pray for [XBOX]

Make sure you update your wheels firmware on the pc first

So hook it to PC before Xbox one? So far Dirt Rally is the only game I’ve had any success with. Mainly because I can switch the clutch and brake.

Definitely yes, only this way you can update its firmware and drivers

With high DOR is hard to recover the car when it spins out, i usually use 360 degrees.
My ffb is set to 25\30 so i can drive for long sessions and not having pain on my shouders the day after expecially on the Left one since i use the shifter with the right hand.
As for the brake pedal it’s just matter of practice and fine tuning it, even which foot you use to brake: I personally tuned in/out deadzone of my brake for heel/toe and it’s quite hard to do it if you set the out deadzone to 20…
Hope it helps you

Thanks I’ll do that tomorrow. I set the out deadzone at 20 so I don’t have to stomp out the brake to get good forces. Seems MUCH better now. For now I set FFB at almost zero and the car seems better. Still prone to a weird kink to the side once in a while. Will update drivers tomorrow.

Unless its changed you want the deadzones at 0/100 - none.

The rest of your problems isnt you, its the FFB. its broken and doesnt behave as it should. Your previous wheel wasnt feeding you bad information - welcome to the thread.

Steering deadzones definatley 0-100, pedal deadzones is pesonal preference. Personally I run acceleration 5-95 decel 0-100 and clutch at 5-90. I mainly have my deadzones that way as ocationally I will get minor spiking in my pedals (have had the same pedals since FM3), not on the brake though being load cell, but the clutch I run slightly higher outside DZ because I like we’re it bites when launching.

I personally use clutch pedal 15-35

I’m going to try to update firmware but there is something wrong with the wheel. Even with FFB completely off, F1 2016 is unplayable. When you accelerate in a straight line the car will weave back and forth from side to side or turn in the opposite direction sometimes. Hopefully the update helps but so far my experience with this wheel has been poor and if it doesn’t work I might return it.

Back in time G920 on pc was a pain due to its broken firmware and drivers, i’ve never used it without updates so come on turn on Your pc get on Logitech page and download drivers… It’s highly recomended…

Takes time to hone in settings that will feel ‘right’, and each person it is different in what that feeling is. Best thing you can do is look up some youtube videos on wheel settings and go from there, its really all down to trial and error and just getting used to the device.

Try not to worry too much about FM6 however, the FFB is just rubbish. Workable once you get used to it, but it is the worst FFB I have ever felt in a game. You also have to change the DOR manually depending on the type of car you run in FM6. I run 900 in road cars, 560 for GT cars, and 360 (an lower) for open wheel formula cars.

Try not to get too discouraged an stick with it, wont be long before you get into a rhythm and get your settings sorted; you will soon be flying around the track.

This is what can be done with the G920 once you get used to FM6 (and other games)

Thank you, I will check those out later today when I get back. Hopefully the steering is normalized after.

DD I asume?

If it aint DD what was the point? (I honestly dont have any further info currently)

^I have seen that clip before, but it definatley doesn’t sit well.

I’d assume the announcement regarding keyboard and mouse support coming to XBox is good for wheel users, if MS are going to open up support for more input control then wont that also give wheel makers more resources too? possibly making it easy to fix problems and support older wheels .

If they have included generic HID/XID support that can detect multiple usb devices that allow button mapping, technically anything could be a controller of some nature. Its not uncommon for PC users to use flight sticks/rudders in some games.

Depending on what the issue is workarounds for various things may be possible, often though the dev would still need to fix it (especially so given the virtualized sandboxed environment of UWP apps.)

If they do the above, and do it well, (obv with fixed ffb) the questions that come next will be:

VR, Buttkicker, motion rig support etc etc.
