Series 68 brings a mixtape of classic events and car rewards for drivers at Horizon Britain.
Earn 80 PTS this series to unlock the 1975 FIAT X1/9, an affordable sports car that delivered exciting performance anywhere but the drag strip with a 67-horsepower engine for European customers. Best experienced on twisty backroads, this rear-wheel drive roadster by Fiat is made for the historic roads across the beautiful British landscapes.
This week’s car rewards include the 1992 GMC Typhoon with incredible acceleration, tenacious grip, and an astounding 280 horsepower through its 4.3-liter GM 4300 V6 intercooled turbocharger. It’s an AWD performance SUV that packs a serious punch! Then feel true power with the spectacular 2019 Bugatti Divo, an AWD track-focused hypercar capable of 236mph with increased handling, braking, and agility.
While the 2019 Bugatti Divo only had 40 units to roll off the manufacturing line in the real world, it’s yours to drive around Britain in Forza Horizon 4 unlocked as part of the Summer Festival Playlist, available until Thursday, November 23:
Oh, and did we mention there’s a trio of incredible off-roaders that are unlockable in this week’s Seasonal Championships? If you’re looking to venture off the beaten path around Britain, look no further than the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, the 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Open Top and the 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale.
Can I just ask why the game is rerunning series that just ran 8 months ago? There are certain car rewards that haven’t been repeated for years (hello there Napier-Railton), and yet the same handful of playlists keep getting rolled out for the third or fourth time in a row. I get that FH4 is an afterthought at this point, but how hard can it be to throw a few genuinely-old playlists on repeat?
I usually do the trial each season to help players who are struggling, but holy cow is this week’s awful. I’ve probably attempted it close to 10 times and haven’t succeeded. Pure hell. I’ll just leave it at this point.
Even if we have a good number of prestiged players, we’re still constantly failing due to the OP AI.
Edit: Just realised this is last week’s seasonal thread, but can’t find the current one so, eh.
Last week’s trial is was my absolute favourite trial anyway. I found a great tune for the Peel and zipped to the front in seconds to block the AI. That’s how you make a trial fun.
The trial took me 3 times. I actually did really well compared to the past and was getting 1st or 2nd in the first two attempts. Then the third time I got 1st by using the ford capri FE…on the windmill cross country it smoked the ridiculous AI. I wish PGG would of fixed some of these before just leaving the game to the wolves. This is definitely not geared towards the average player.
My problem when this Trial comes up usually isn’t the AI being super-fast, but instead them being insane, or my teammates being incompetent. Like, say, when one of them body-checks me into a house corner in the first 5 seconds of the first race. Or when I have multiple AI either stop dead in front of me or somehow stop in midair in the second race. It’s pure jank.
I’ve done this trial successfully in the past but not this time. Gave up after 8 attempts. On one occasion I finished 1st in the first race and team finished last in positions 8-12. If team doesn’t win race one you might as well quit. I only do the playlist because I still like FH4 but I’ll skip the trial this week. With the ranked points I easily pass 80 anyway.
Heh, and then on my second attempt my team cleans up in the first two races and I finish first in all three. All about luck of the draw. That last track is pure butt, so fortunately we didn’t need to rely on it.
