MONTHLY RIVALS
The total point value of Monthly events is divided by four when applied to individual seasons; completing both events will apply 2 points to each season in this series. Post a clean lap to complete Rivals events. Monthly Rivals cars are stock and provided as free rentals for the event, allowing you to test drive the car before collecting it from seasonal points.
Trial this week is in a “stock” Vauxhall Corsa … “stock” meaning “any upgrades as long as PI is under C 584”. I noticed a lot of people in the previous week’s trial were aware of this and came in upgraded cars. Its an advantage over stock. I did a lot of testing of upgraded C 584 Corsas, so I’ll share a couple tunes.
Stock tires with full aero … SC: 144 400 427
Drag tires with full aero … SC: 144 057 726
I did a lap 1:16.810 at Tierra Prospecta Circuit (first race of trial) in the stock tires tune. Would’ve been good for #173 on the rivals leaderboard if I didnt already have a time posted there.
The drag tune was about 0.5 seconds a lap slower, but gets off the line much better. I dont know if drag tires are enough to avoid carnage in Tierra’s turn 1.
If you’re looking at going with different tunes, the lower torque engine swap is 1 second a lap faster. You can tell if a tune has that engine swap because there will be less than 100-200 ft-lb of torque. The slower stock engine will have over 200 ft-lb of torque.
If you are going for a tune with no aero, no aero was about 0.5 seconds a lap slower than with full aero.

Done, it’s a pity that it’s so short =(
I don’t like EventLab all the time, there are some obstacles, you stick them into the walls tightly…they are unpredictable, in short
Odd goings on with the Trial. Race 1 the AI drove off into the sunset, we got 2nd and 3rd place but we had some newbies in the midfield so lost that race.
Race 2 on the other hand was well easy, won that no problem, and oddly that 1 win was enough for us to win the trial as a whole, we never had to go to the 3rd race.
Sounds like everyone had a similar experience in the Trial. I managed to avoid the worst of the inevitable carnage at the first real corner at Tierra, but even so five of the AI had pulled a few seconds clear of the field. One of our drivers eventually managed to bridge the gap, and the chaos they created with the AI while going through them let me catch up and pick off most of them. We finished 1-3, and thanks to a couple of back markers leaving we eked out a win. Then in the second race three of us cleared the field during the first lap, and that was that.
Nothing wrong with bringing stock cars to seasonal championships. If everyone brings an x00 car then the AI will get similar, so by choosing a lesser scored car you can make the race easier for your teammates.
I respectfully disagree. When these players finish bottom of the pack or dont even have the decency to quit then it is wrong. Co op is not about 'matching" up with the AI in the hopes of the AI somehow becoming less competitive. The amount of times i have seen players with stock cars being beaten by AI in stock cars says it all.
Its about wininng and if you cant be bothered in SC Co op to bring a tuned car then i suggest you play “stock car matching” in Solo.
I will admit though, there are a few, and i mean very few, who can bring stock and be competitive, even win. These players are the exception, not the norm.
I don’t know how the balance works in multi, but I’ve almost never done an SC solo in a stock car and thought “oh no, they’re way too fast for me, I’d be better off upgrading.” Usually I’m well clear of the whole field by the halfway point. Highly Skilled is not that hard to go against.
That’s what i mean. It gets frustrating sometimes when i get a lobby that has a majority decide to bring stock, and they finish last and continue into next race, making it useless to do the SC because we won’t win.
Usually toward the end of the second race, if the result looks like a loss, I’ll quit and try again for another decent lobby.
