Games a joke, Start race, two cars crash in front of me on the first corner, because people drive like bell ends, wipe me out, push me off the track and I get a 2.5 second penalty…
Ah, great point. In my three responses, I forgot to mention unsafe track reentry. That should be a HUGE penalty if a collision happens because of it.
Featured multiplayer. Bugatti series. No penalty, nothing for the guy. Felt really bad from my perspective
I think I have never been more annoyed than this while playing this game:
The penalty system is a joke because there’s a big chance you may be invisible to other divers (and vice versa). Here is the proof:
And Turn 10 is yet to acknowledge it.
I have too many instances to count where I have be rammed from behind and from the side, completely spun out or run off the track and then given a 4 or 5 second penalty for it. It’s crazy I really don’t want to even play the game anymore due to the ridiculous amount of times I get spun or run off the track. The match making needs work and the penalties have driven my rating down to B.
You can’t even pass safely because even if you are clearly faster than the car in front of you if you can’t pass them fast enough they hit you.
Road america (short), Featured E class, my car Nissan 240 SX. Race, turn 3.
I’m on outside lane on middle of the turn. Driver (B) on inside lane bumps to car in front (C) sending driver (C) from inside lane straight to my driving line resulting instant crash and both me and driver (C) go straight off the track. I got 4 second penalty and a safety class drop S → A.

Player dives into last chicane and hits me repeatedly to gain 2nd place:
It does not receive any penalty for that.
The penalty system really needs addressed and like yesterday.
GT hopper on Maple valley. 2 guys must think I’m the ham for their sandwich and decide they both want abit of me.
This resulting in me spinning out and clattering another car and then being hit with a 4 sec avoidable.
I have no control of the car and the ghosting is a joke.
Straight from S to B rating which seems to be the only thing consistent in this game. Up and down the safety rating like a yoyo.
Are T10 going to actually address the penalty system or is this thread a complete waste of time?

Player pushes me repeatedly until I end up off track. He gains position over me, I gain 2+sec penalty.
I guess it’s a trend now.
Ovals (maybe) excluded, this happens on every track and all the time, and without any real penalties it will continue to happen unless people suddenly find their moral compass. If you don’t care about others in race there’s nothing stopping you from basicly pushing everyone you find in front of your car off the track.

Been pushed off track at T1, I receive 1sec penalty:
However, I managed to have a decent come back :
This is actually the second one of this race, where the same jackwagon rammed someone else into me. Which is why I have a total of 8 Seconds of penalties.
I got abused in voice chat for “brake checking” rocking a standard holden hsv lol.
Rammed multiple times for the correct braking zone for my car - they could have taken the wide line every time.
No penalties.
Eventually rammed off track, no penalty - but my pit manoeuvre also did not penalise me. Karma.
No comment, just typical T1 on NUR
Can i refund game with 25d in game time?
Thank you all for your feedback. I forwarded this to the team and today the Motorsport senior leadership has published this blog:
A MESSAGE TO THE MOTORSPORT COMMUNITY – JANUARY 2024
9 January 2024- Turn 10 Studios
FORZA RACE REGULATIONS
We are aware that Forza Race Regulations are not working as intended in some situations. We have heard about inconsistent or unfair penalties in instances of intentional ramming, being pushed off the track, and spinning cars pushing drivers off the track. We have also heard that high speed collisions sometimes have no penalties while low speed collisions have mild penalties. It’s important that we capture all the data that we can about a race when FRR rulings happen in error, so over the next few months, we will be working with some long-time competitive Motorsport players to gather direct telemetry from them while they’re playing. They will be capturing these instances and feeding data to our team so that we can issue tweaks to make FRR more accurate and reliable. We appreciate your patience as we work on improving the system.
Thank you for the update @T10ManteoMax, we all appreciate it!
I am not sure if it is just me or everyone can feel it: Turn 10 definitely over loosened the online multiplayer penalty system recently which makes the game unplayable…
During the first several weeks of release, I can feel that the regulation was probably too strict that even some subtle unintentional contacts would result in penalties. However, now the system just goes the other side: so frequently extremely obvious intentional ramming gets no penalty… I even can clearly say that some online players have learnt how to exploit the system and now taking advantages of intentional contacts to gain positions. Sadly, not only stupid noobs do that - I saw many experienced and fast players intentionally exploit this loose penalty system. In the early days, as long as I get into top 5 and stay away from noobs, then I could have a relatively clean race in the remaining laps, but now, no way - some experienced players intentionally contact you and make you in ways that escape the penalty, including subtly hitting your rear side on a long straight so you lose control; in the entry of a slow corner using your car as their final brake and making you wide; in a regular corner intentionally closing the inside line to push you on the grass (yes, pushing you towards inside gets far less frequent penalty than pushing you outside…).
Now I even hope Turn 10 to bring back the initial overly strict system…
Weirdly this thread has made me feel better.
I felt I was the only one waiting 5-20 minutes for a race to start, only to get rammed in the first few corners with the perpetrator getting no penalty and sometimes me getting the penalty, it nice to know I’m not the only sufferer.
I just want to race with sensible racers, I’m certainly not the fastest (4400) but I am clean and that’s all I ask in return
(And a radar for goodness sake it’s 2024, stop hamstringing wheel players)
One more example, it happens in any class any race, whatever u pick, if someone with lower grip takes corner on inside, but some meta abusers with full aero race tyre Miata for eg, have more grip, he will just use rivals line and rear end u mid corner, if u are lucky nothing happens, but usually u get pushed wide, off track, or lose grip in rear tyre = lose time, Miata overtakes u and gets no penalty.
Multiple times I had to deal with this type of driving from meta abusers, they just ram u cuz they are faster in corner, or even they will use your car as railing to take corner faster, and get no penalty. Usually in this situations if someone is annoying enough I just catch up on straight and PIT this guy cuz also no penalty LOL
There should be some kind of penalty if u overtook someone after collision, tho not always cuz getting 5s penalty for just trading paint on straight would albo be bad. Like pixel cuts that give u min 2s penalty, even if all u gained was max 0.1s
