Conclusion after driver level 100 only career mode.
Play with a gamepad.
Career mode
It’s not a career mode, it’s an unimaginative grind that in no way motivates you to continue with your “career”.
Completely unimaginative presentation. It doesn’t give you the feeling of playing a career. The leveling of the cars is a new approach but not balanced as you are competing against an AI that has access to all parts. However, especially at the start of a Cup, you lack the points to start with racing tires, for example. But the AI can access them. Is probably again a not well thought out random based system that should be oriented to the car level of the player.
AI
To call this opponent AI is an insult to all existing “real” AIs. Pushing, shoving, pushing away, braking without reason, blocking the ideal line, etc. etc. etc. You never know how these bots will rule when you approach them. Sometimes easy to defeat, sometimes no chance to even get close.
Difficulty level concept and training round
The training rounds are superfluous since they would have rather built a qualification system, the training you just need to collect AP … boring and superfluous.
The concept with the difficulty level is also such a thing. Freely selectable starting position… huh? Is this a racing simulation or a game of chance? The only thing missing are lootboxes… as a reward…
Bugs Bugs Bugs
The game feels like a beta version. Performance drops, jerks when loading tracks, unexplainable crashes, etc. etc.
For example, I can’t tune my cars at all right now. Every time I click on the tune button the game freezes and then quits. As soon as I make settings in the graphics menu I can expect the game to crash during the race.
I have now only turned off ray tracing and the rest I leave untouched. Then it runs relatively stable. My system is completely up to date and current AAA titles run without problems. e.g. FH 5, Cyberpunk, Starfield, D4, MS Flight Simulator etc. etc… Ryzen 5950+, 7900XTX, 32GB RAM, M.2 Samsung Pro 980, 1000 Watt power supply.
Everything updated and Windows is also up to date.
Conclusion:
Not recommended. The game is completely soulless and has nothing to do with a racing simulation. It feels like a FH 5 only without all the show around it. That’s also what FM lacks the most, the show, the performance, the attention to detail, everything feels completely lovelessly slapped together.
