Seriously, online, talk about overused. It’s as bad as Forza 6 was with Yas Marina ![]()
Kinda crazy how they can’t figure out how to have a variety of all tracks in multiplayer. Shouldn’t be too hard, but maybeTurn10 has a reason…
Tell me about it, I haven’t seen Watkins Glen or Hockenheim in weeks, yet VIR is there every single time…
I think the track randomizer does not pick from environments, but rather from track layouts. There are quite a lot of VIR layouts. If it picked from environments and then layouts, then it might be better.
There are a lot of different layouts from tracks that are simply not available in Forza 7. Ever raced in a track and noticed multiple finish lines?
That’s not our fault.
It is really simple and why Bathurst seem to never show up, instead of doing a Random on all track variant they need to do similar to below. Because some track as more variant they show up more often, same with night/rain because they nearly account to 2/3 of layout that means if random too they would account for 2/3 of races you do. To improve variation of track location, layout, and scenario it need to be more like this:
A- Randomly select a location (this give each location Bathurst, Sebring,VIR, etc equal change to be selected 1 out of # of location)
B- Randomly select a layout from the location chosen in A. (This give each variant of a locatio to have equal chance of being selected, 1 out of # variant and if a track only has 1 variant the it is it)
C- Randomly select a scenario (Rain, dry, night) from what is available for the location/layout selected in A-B. (This give equal chance of a race to be dry and again if there’s only 1, then it is)
There with that each location has equal chance to be selected then each variant within that location and finally we have equal chance of having a dry race. Of course that is unless they have set static rotation and in which case, they are bad it seems.
Then race.

The only problem with that is sometimes different layouts of the same track are actually very different. For example, Road America East Route is very different from the full circuit, so grouping them together wouldn’t make much sense. I do think grouping similar layouts and day/night/rain together would be good though. Currently, VIR has 21 different possibilities.
I love the VIR track but at some point you indeed want to see some other tracks. Already happy that i’ve seen the Nurburgring online however the game crashed before the start of it and haven’t seen it since. Can’t remember what class it was in, so hope i will see it sometime in the future.
Remember seeing the full version in S class. GP circuit in the Endurance GT hopper. However, been playing in that hopper for at least 3 months, never had the chance to race there.
I’m at the point where I just leave the lobby any time any configuration other than Full shows up. Racing cars faster than C class on the infield is miserable.
Yeah it’s overused for sure, I haven seen Laguna Seca in the A class hopper since the hopper was added. But the best part is doing 9 laps around VIR full and then doing 1 lap around hockenheim full. Like WTH T10, can’t you do anything half right!!!
I am also at the point now where I’ll just leave a lobby when Virginia comes up.
It’s a problem in the leagues though because there’s no track voting in leagues.
It’s really very tedious now.
+13²³ … some tracks never or rarely show up in multiplayer ! Why ? And also the neglected Ring makes me sad ![]()
Here’s my take on what’s happening. Race length appears to me to be determined by how long it will take to complete rather than the distance being run. The limited number of circuits in rotation can easily fit into whatever formula they are using for a given hopper. VIR has 1.5 million variations so it would show up in any and all circumstances. Also shorter tracks will with fewer variations (Lime Rock) will show up more often. That would also be why when they do have a larger track with limited variations the race is limited to an absurdly low number of laps. Large tracks with a single variation might not show up at all. In essence, if I’m correct in my assumptions, T10 is doing it wrong. The lack of track variation and wait v. race ratio is why I seldom run in public lobbies outside of Endurance.
I never stay in the lobby, 9 out of 10 its a rain race and looks like its half past midnight. GT cars dont like the circuit.
I’m gonna play devils advocate here, but has anybody thought that rotation in the multiplayer might be more to do with the licensing agreement that T10 have with the various tracks i.e Virginia Raceway gave then a better deal if it was featured more and the other more highly featured tracks also. It could be as simple as £££££££!!!. Yas Marina featured very heavily in F6 , perhaps it could be that at that time Yas Marina needed more exposure , but has decided this time that it doesn’t or in fact that the deal wasn’t as good as they had hoped so that is why it is not in rotation as much.
That’s pretty speculative and conspiratory. Besides, if that was actually a thing it seems to only be annoying people and causing them to loathe the track even more. I see no benefit for VIR to do something like this.
I’d rather stick a limp noodle up a bobcats butt in a phonebooth than race on VIR again!!!
You sure know how to paint a picture. ![]()
Thank you!!
