Can anyone who has played the demo comment on the sounds? I’ve watched a few videos and there seems to be a lack of forced induction noise on the Focus RS although it’s hard to tell as people are constantly talking over the video.
Asked about this is another thread, I really hope they haven’t used the sounds from FM7. Can’t hear any FI noise on the R32 Skyline or the Focus RS, both of which are very prominent IRL.
On a positive note the exhaust sounds are great, love the off throttle sound on the RS!

Now that several streamers/Youtubers have early access to the game I watched and listenend to new engine sounds of FH4. I am very disappointed so far. Till now I have heard typical copy and past sounds from other FH games, sounds that already were bad are now just used again without improvement. I don’t know where to start because almost all cars I have heard so far are bad… the Aventador LP70-4 SV sounds like the Aventador from FH3 which sounded pretty bad. Why not use the engine sound of Forza 7 where you could really feel and hear the power of this Italian beast?

I just noticed that In forza Horizon 4…the sound of the lamborghini gallardo lp570-4 (V10 same for the huracan) as SOOO MUCH IMPROVED i cant believe forza finally done it!

The main issue is because it is now a car collector game. I rather have 150-200 cars that are authentically reproduced as oppose to 600+ cars with half of them copy/pastes and rushed.
Another issue with the car sounds in the recent Forza games is the deceleration, which seems almost silent in some cars and they decelerate way too quickly it really does kill the feel.

Just saw some gameplay videos on youtube.
Huge work on v10 BMW and v10 Lambo.
Disappointed about Zonda R! and the two Ferraris I saw (FXXK and TDF) who are not agressive at all.
The Gallardo sounds ok but not as I hope’d it would, it is a copy and paste from the Audi R8 of FH3.
The Lamborghini Veneno sounds the same as the Aventador (both bad, and the exact same engine sound of FH3). Why not use the Aventador sound of Forza 7 where it sounded pretty good? Same with the Huracan, it sounds rather weak than aggressive. Seriously, every single car misses the power and aggression you want to feel when you drives such cars.
Watch this and you know what “aggression” means in terms of sound.
They really need to come with patches to fix most engine sounds ASAP!

Really disappointed with Zonda and FXXK, they used the bad sounds from FM7 instead of decent ones from FH3. I hope they didn’t use the farting VTEC (older Civics, Integras I think also used it, can’t find any gameplay with those cars) sound again, please, Turn 10, you’re better than this… Forza 7 was offputing to me because the sounds were not accurate for many cars, it was discussed so much on the forums, and they still use those same samples… After Mitsubishi fiasco I was less hyped for the game, but recently while watching the gameplays I got hyped again… until I came across a video with FXXK or Zonda, can’t remember which one first…

The Zonda R has the Generic lambo/ Enzo v12 sound , the Fxxk is just a fake generic lol , the Gtr thankfully has it’s Fh3 sound. The BMW e60 v10 sounds awesome , the Generic 6.2 v8 sound is back haha… the SV-750 lambo has it’s fh3 sound which is good.

Just heard the R34 Gtr, it has the same bland sound , probably the same goes for the R32 and R33 complete rubbish I’m disgusted that such iconic cars with distinct engine notes could be thrashed… Forza 6 the 32 , 33 , 34 sounded amazing. The R35sounds good as it is now tho… I expect the Honda’s to sound rubbish aswell… I’m not hating it’s just sound wise the Forza Franchise has gone down the damn drain. This coming from a loyal player from the start.
I have mailed Forza when FH3 and FM7 came out countless times , still no reply… anyway just my 2c

I hope they will consider our remarks this time, as their new sound engine system was in developpement in FH3, now it seems to be ready when we ear some great sound like the M5 e60.
We are here in the official community forum, where a major part of us are like “Senior Forza users”, why not propose us some new sounds and then we can help reaching the right tone with some poll for ex ? Would be a good opportunity for PG to approach and exchange with the “well trained ears” we are :).
I don’t understand that it cannot be one of their purist ‘car lover’ goal.
Hope this point can reach the interest, would be magic.
I get the funny feeling this is going to be the same car sounds post from fm7 that massive post , countless mails , tweets , posts , over 50 or 60k views alone with almost 30 pages of valid points… not a peep from anyone from turn 10 or PG

Around 13 minute mark you can hear the Civic as AR12 is passing it. It looks like it has the awful sound from FM7 again. Can’t believe it. Literally no one liked this sound, many on the forums complained and in every YT video featuring it there were complaints yet they still use it. Last time it sounded good was in FH3…

What was done in the past because of the bad sounds? This is the first time since I play Forza (3) that I’m really sick and tired of the sounds, which become worse and worse. What happenend? Forza was always the best with engine sounds but since Forza Horizon 2 they didn’t improve anything, opposite, engines that were ok are changed and those which sucked aren’t fixed.
Are they deaf at Turn 10? If I was an employee on the sound I would insist to record the cars in real life, just once, afterwards you can use those sounds every time and don’t have to really improve because you already have the real deal. Anyway, I really hope they patch a lot of cars.

I’ve just heard the stock R34. It’s awful. It baffles my that they apparently record these sounds directly from the car using high quality microphones etc and they end up sounding so far removed from reality.
They need to bring the sound guys in from NFS2015, those guys knew what these cars are supposed to sound like.
