First things first, i’m not going to slate the game. To play, it’s absolutely brilliant! Turn10 have done a great job of turning around the mess that was Forza 5.
However, am I the only one feeling more like a beta tester than someone that paid slightly extra to play the game early?
With the lack of online lobbies, content to game feed and other things “unavailable until the 15th”, this doesn’t feel like an early release. Add to that some glaring mistakes such as missing wheel brands through “customise”, lack of being able to change drivatar cars, and other things, it feels more like a beta test.
That said, I’m going to finish work at 3pm and play the game until bed!
If this is being a beta tester then I’m in the wrong job! Have you ever beta tested a game? Coz I have and believe me it is NOTHING like as polished as this game. I do wish it had all the hoppers in though as I have a number I’d R class cars I’d like to race against others online.
Needs a few tweaks but yes it’s worthy of a full release.
Multiplayer hoppers probably limited so that the numbers in hoppers aren’t spread to thinly. Hopefully more on full release. I expect they number crunch and monitor.
I don’t feel like Turn 10 have blessed me with early access, cause they’re great guys, I feel like I paid an extra amount of money to get it on time. Hell, I’m not 100% sure, but didn’t you even have to buy the ultimate edition before the 10th to get certain DLC’s?
You got some Horizon 2 DLC if you bought the FM6 UE before a certain date, but pretty sure anyone who bought the UE today would get all the same content in this game.
We didn’t pay for early access. We paid for the full game, VIP, and DLC, and playing a few days early was a free bonus.
As for the “beta” comment, that’s completely unwarranted. The game plays perfectly fine as it is. I actually played Project CARS, and from the sounds of it you didn’t, because that had a mountain of stuff wrong with it on release, including some catastrophic issues that could even force you to restart your game losing dozens of hours of progress, and several months and several patches later it still has very serious and even game-destroying faults. I still don’t save any race replays in CARS because it can corrupt my save file several months and patches after release. CARS felt like a $60 retail beta. FM6 feels just fine.
I think that’s unfair, the game’s one of the most polished releases of 2015… Some online features not being available would’ve been understandable too, but they got pretty much everything working, and most important of it all, working smoothly. I think the lack of online hoppers can be excused.
But if you feel that way about the game, hey, I can’t tell you to do otherwise.
