I started Forza 5 by spending $3.00 on the Infiniti #77 Schmidt Peterson IPS Indy Lights car, and loved every minute of it. I used that car to grind the Alps track for 6 hours, to earn the 1,300,000 credits required to buy the Chevy #12 DW12 IndyCar, only to find out that EVERY stat (other than speed) on the DW12 was WORSE than the Indy Light, including handling and braking, the two mot important parts of a race car. I find that the DW12 IndyCar understeers like crazy, and takes corners 10 - 20mph SLOWER than the Indy Light. I also noticed that the maximum adjustable downforce on the DW12’s front wing is 521, where the maximum adjustable downforce on the Indy Light is 900-something. What is this? Please, Turn 10, fix this in your next update for FM5. At the very least, make the maximum adjustable front downforce on the DW12 equal too the downforce on the maximum adjustable downforce on the Indy Light. There’s no reason why this 1,300,000 car handles worse than a $3.00 (130,000credits) car. You really, really need to fix this!
cost of the car doesnt mean it has to be better in performance, there are some cars around 3 Million+ credits that are old classic D class cars.
There is a reason, it’s called reality.
You must not have a tune on the Indycar, and the best tune ever on the Indy Lights. The Indycar is A LOT easier to drive than the lights car. The two cars have similar brakeing points but the Indycar is slowing down a lot more because of the top speed. For example at Long Beach on the back straight, both cars I brake at the 300 marker. But the Lights car is going like 160, well the Indycar is 190.
The DW12 chassis used in the Indy Car series is very rear weight biased and the #1 complaint from real drivers is the amount of understeer the car has. In the game you have to find a really good tune and I still find the car has a slight push. The Indy lights car has a lot of front grip and you end up chasing the rear of the car.
I find that the Indy Lights car is way more drivable than the DW-12. I have spent a lot more time on the Lights car. I think Rabbit is onto it. The lights car has oversteer built in and you tune it away the best you can. I find a little oversteer is easier to drive than understeer. There are some tood tunes out there for the DW-12 tho and it makes them way more drivable.
