I’m kind of surprised how sensitive the AI is to the driving lines when creating my own race. I realize that I am not taking perfect lines when I’m drawing the route and placing checkpoints, but I’m definitely not weaving all over the place or anything. Even on unbeatable, I pass the AI like they are sitting still.
Any tips on creating a competitive race?

They are called drivartar ds for a reason.
Its tough to get perfect driving lines when creating a custom race, thus making it easy to beat unbeatable AI.
The best advice I can give is drive your route several times to get used to it. Plan out where you want to place checkpoints as you are practing the route.After you get the course down pretty solid you can tgen go into create route mode and drive tge lines you familiarized yourself with more slowly so you can place checkpoints and still keep a good line until you get to the next.

I liked your track, did it on my first run with only 1 minor collision. The driving line looked good, the AI just cant do them really tight turns too good.

Lap Time was 2:55:175
Guessing Lap Time is from when I first crossed the official start time and Time is overall from where I started, in last.
I have the same issue with my own created racetracks. However I did a test yesterday and created a new racingline for one of my tracks (which is NOT possible without placing all checkpoints again).
Placing checkpoints and the racingline at the same time prevents the racingline from beeing perfect. But anyway I managed to create a way more agressive racingline going into each apex through the gravel as perfect as possible. (In FH4 I kept the racingline on street at each apex.)
Result was that the AI is much harder to beat. The AI still has to be unbeatable but its much better now.
However it costs more time and effort to create a that kind of “perfect” racingline like it did in FH4.

I think I’ll try using a much slower car and try recreating the route again. I would really like to make the race competitive.

Having to place the checkpoints and set the route at the same time is annoying. I’d like to be able to place the checkpoints and then come back and set the driving line. It’s easier to pick the line with a little speed.
Not that they would ever implement that, but I’ll enter a suggestion.
I’ll reset the racing line this weekend to see if I can do a better job. Thanks!
