Actually, I agree completely (except for the story, I hate story modes in driving games lol). That said, you have to be realistic about development cycles. FM7 is obviously the Scorpio release. Remember FM5? In terms of content and gameplay evolution over 4, it was actually a big step back. We all know Turn10 and Playground are on 2 year dev cycles for every version of FM and FH, and thats a good thing, it avoids the pitfalls Gran Tursimo fell into decades ago. But there is only so much they can cram into a 2 year project, even with their huge team and massive resources. The Scorpio (XBoxX) comes out this fall, obviously this next version of FM overlaps with that release, so they have no choice but to put their focus on scaling up the content and rendering to the new hardware (as they had to with 5 going from 360 to One). However, by the sounds of it there are a lot more big improvements and features beyond 4k specific stuff in this release then the move from 4 to 5. Even though I feel the same as you, I will still be picking up 7. 700 cars and 30 tracks? I’m in. As for the asset recycling, no one forces you to buy all of the DLC. Although I really wish they would move to a system where you buy DLC cars once and get it in both current versions of FM and FH, at the very least you can skip it for one of those games and just collect it with the next that comes out. For instance I snoozed on FM5 because it had so little content, bought FM6 with Seasons Pass + Porsche expansion, bought FH3 barebones (but got the awesome expansions) and am looking forward to getting all of the FH3 DLC cars with FM7. Which I’ll probably get Ultimate again, and then repeat the same pattern with the next Horizon.
Only under 20% player using cockpit view. but it doesn’t mean to cockpit view is unnecessary.
and some player who using first person view are even don’t care about how car looks like. All details are no meaning to this people.
Are you one of them?
I didn’t quote everything posted here, but people that read over those posts get what I’m answering.
If you hate Forza so much, you’re more than welcome to stop playing and go somewhere else. That’s what I did with Gran Turismo. PD have been recycling virtually entire games and adding a bit of new content on top of that, but the problem with that is they’re recycling garbage. I don’t mean “garbage” in the same way that you implied Forza was trash. I mean “garbage” as in “almost the entire game was dramatically inferior to Forza and most games of recent history”. Nitpick as much as you like, but Forza remains the standard by which all other console racing games are judged. Gran Turismo hasn’t been the benchmark for at least a decade. Project CARS isn’t the gold standard. Assetto Corsa isn’t the benchmark. They do certain things that I’d like in Forza, but they also fall short a lot. Nobody has a better total package than Forza. I’m not saying it’s the best physics or the best motorsport experience, but it’s the best total package. If the best isn’t good enough, you’re welcome to settle for less elsewhere.
I’m fine with constructive criticism. At what point does it cease to become constructive criticism and become whining/trolling?
I love to use cockpit view. It’s one way of really experiencing each car individually as opposed to their outside body styles which can be very similar. You get the feel of actually being in the car and that goes a long way towards immersion for me at least. It’s not the main selling point, driver customizing, but I’d be lying if I said I’d never use it.
It is right to suggest that the physics and modeling had better be pretty darn near perfect, for them to be going out on a limb to do certain other detail things like driver customization.
Those who approach FM7 with some degree of skepticism are to be taken example from. Don’t be tricked by shiny things; do as they do, and demand that the underpinnings be as finely finished as the fluff. Don’t bash the guy for being appropriately concerned that maybe they have put too much attention in some potentially wasteful direction.
That said, hey, cool, drive customization, and more than what one of the previous Gran Turismo titles had. Sweet. Proper old-school driving gear for my proper old-school racing machines.
Name calling? Ignoring the point of my post? It’s just my opinion. If you think CoD recycles coding and assets then you’re a blindness hater. Look at CoD WW2, and Infinite Warfare and show me one reused thing. I could make a list of over 5000 reused things from the Forza franchise. As for EA sports games i’ve never played them so i won’t judge them however it was a rhetorical statement.
All I can say is FINALLY! This is a feature that has been a long time coming, as in Forza 6 you had a basic avatar, in Horizon 3 you could choose pre-set characters. They develop these things very slowly but I’m glad it has finally arrived. This will make the game more alive and more interesting to be honest. Forza has needed something like this desperately. A really good step in the right direction in my opinion.
Will there be a way to skip this stuff all together or will it be mandatory to choose the driver gear? I was not a fan of having to chose a driving character and name in FH3 and for me this will just be worse if this is mandatory as well. I am not into all this personalization in the least. It would be great if it were optional, like painting the cars is. That way those who are into this can enjoy it while others can just take the defaults and get on with racing.
im not a computer tech guy but to me this driver stuff is a waste of space…rather more cars then this! you are looking at the cars ass or dash 99% of the time anyways
It’s not the sticking point for me for sure but I will probably use it and design my driver. Not a big deal and nothing to rage at. Customization is huge these days and there will be a lot of players who will like to change their look. The drivers will be shown outside the car before races and in lobbies.
While I will never use it beyond the first setup, I know there will be many that do. My Grandson spends as much time customizing his characters in some games than I think he actually “plays” said games. Just not my cup-o-tea.
