Drifting tips? Plz help

I have had trouble in forza 5 drifting… I cant seem to carry momentum or speed through longer corners, i drift rwd in automatic any tips?

My first tip would be to go manual. You can keep that power and torque going to the rear wheels through out the corner.

If you know about the weight transfer , handbrake, counter steering etc etc than you should be golden once you jump in manual.

Good luck.

Hey mate, I was having a hard time getting used to it myself a while ago but maybe I can help.

The assists I’m using:

Braking: ABS On
Steering: Normal
Traction & Stability Control: Off
Shifting: Manual w/Clutch (easier to maintain angle, and mostly anything)

I was desperately searching around on Youtube where I found a couple of decent drift builds, until I came across
the Forza drift team called Doing it Sideways (DiS). They have a great video that goes through anything from top to bottom in makinga drift car,
it’s a great video that I still use all the time for all my drift cars. The build in the video is for a Mazda RX7 but it works on mostly
any car and engine (some better than other, and they use a V8 in the video). They are some great drifters and nice, helpful people.

In Forza 5 it doesnt really matter how much horse power you can put down, but the torque which is the main deciding factor. (to me atleast)

Also, feel free to add me and I will help if you need more help or anyone to drift with, hope this has been useful.

Manual and use better tyres. Like 1st upgarde.

im using streets with max rear width and mid front. Ive found that max front makes the car twitchy so i use mid sized.is this ok to use?

yeah, that works fine

I would not use any assists at all.

Also, I don’t widen my tires at all. I use Sport Compound and generally I use stock rims and wheel size.

Ok guys thanks for all the help
